Rising damp treatment, external render, plinth and DPC advice

Yes it's solid as on the lower pic. So this is my current plan put DryRod (like DryZone but solid) into the wall re-plaster from inside with Thistle DriCoat (http://www.british-gypsum.com/products/thistle-dricoat) - found it on another forum. Treat the bottom of the inside wall with DryBase...

Rising damp treatment, external render, plinth and DPC advice

Just answering couple of your questions I dont see a plinth? There is no plinth currently, I was asking if there should be going forward. Have you carefully examined the walls.. Yes we have rising damp on the inside wall and this is the reason I'm doing it. How do you propose to insert a...

Rising damp treatment, external render, plinth and DPC advice

Hi, thanks.. this is the best pic I have of outside wall at the moment. Sidewall by madeinstein posted 24 Jul 2015 at 1:26 PM it's a solid wall and floor is suspended. The floor level is just above the ground level. I tried to remove the concrete render but it's almost impossible as it's rock...

Rising damp treatment, external render, plinth and DPC advice

Hi, I'm trying to get an advice what is the best approach to replacing old render plinth & external wall render after damp proofing (this is old house btw), there seems to be a lot of opinions of render bridging the DPC etc. The way I understand it so far on the brick only wall it's quite...

Which Boiler for 2 bed flat with 1 bathroom?

This is what 24kw boiler would give me: DHW Flow Rate at 35°C Rise - 10.0 l/min 35ºC is not much (in winter mains water is quite cold), so wouldn't I need a more powerful boiler to get something like 10 Ltr/ minute at 50ºC? 28kw or 30kw? Is there any dissadvantage of having a more powerful...

Which Boiler for 2 bed flat with 1 bathroom?

Thanks to both of you.. It's so obvious! I got about 1.8L in 10s so it would be around 10-11L/min. This is a house conversion with 2 flats. I'm on the 1st floor and as far as I know there is a one stop-cock for the whole house. As it's only 2 flats I've never noticed water flowing...

Which Boiler for 2 bed flat with 1 bathroom?

Hi, I'm looking for a new boiler and I was wondering how powerful should be the boiler for 2 bed flat? Is 9L/min good enough, or 12L/min, 15L/min? Any recommendations for wall mounted combination boiler? Currently I have old BAXI Solo boiler (wall mounted) in the kitchen, water cylinder in...

Baxi solo WM 40/4 PF - termostat cuts off

Sorry what the "stat" is? Danfoss HS3 3-Port Valve 22mm (http://www.screwfix.com/app/sfd/cat/pro.jsp?cId=100126&ts=34559&id=30424) The valve was replaced about a month ago, is it possible that it's incorectly connected? Because the plumber that was doing that said something that previously is...

Baxi solo WM 40/4 PF - termostat cuts off

Yes it worked before all other problems started (in the second topic more info) I think only 1 out of 5 is slighlty colder (but I think it was always like that) The pump is set to 3 so It can't increase the flow. If there is a blockage does it mean changing the whole water in the system?

Baxi solo WM 40/4 PF - termostat cuts off

Hi, My boilers runs for a while and then safety button pops out (the one on the left side of the termostat). When I set termostat to LOW it works fine, only when it's set between 1-max this things happen. I've also noticed that boiler is getting very hot quite quickly and today the flame...

Baxi solo WM 40/4 PF - does not startup

Ok the update.. Gas Valve got replaced.. worked for 3 hours.. the next day he came back and replaced one of the pipes that goes to pressure switch, and now we're back to point 3, boiler works but only on LOW as soon as you set termostat to 1 or more it cuts out and termostat safety button...

Baxi solo WM 40/4 PF - does not startup

Ok so the update.. Looks like "Valve Control Honeywell" needs to be replaced, something with selenoid - whatever this is. This guy called baxi technical support and they've guide him to the problem. Looks like PCB is making a number of checkes before is starts up fan (there was no power...
