Removing the gas meter outside property

very quick question chaps Had a new boiler installed at weekend by a gas safe reg. Engineer. To isolate the gas supply he disconnected the meter (the brown box with the meter numbers on it) completely took it off. Is this normal?

    Spider deterrant

I was trying to have a sense of humour in this post. I don't really see how my question is all that ridiculous. I was asking for advice. I'll not bother next time. Cheers guys.

    Spider deterrant

I really don't see why I can't get a decent sensible answer to this. I feel like some social pariah because I've mentioned 'spiders' and 'get rid' and all of a sudden, I'm as bad as that guy with a tash from the Middle East. I'm off to get the fckn blow torch!

    Spider deterrant

I have no issue with spiders, hence me not wandering around the garden at 2am in my pants with a blowtorch. But, still, the question stands.

    Spider deterrant

We noticed a few (well several) false widow spiders dotted around our garden the other day. We removed then and re-homed them, it's fine, but we got talking about general perimeter defence when it comes to spiders. Do you have any advice on how best to naturally repel spiders from around the...

    Levelling a lawn

I'll post up a couple of picks of the terrain and the greenhouse I'm buying, just so you can get the jist. Appreciate its a bit difficult when you can't see a pic. Thanks again for your advice.

    Levelling a lawn

If I leveled the lawn then and laid slabs, would I be able to just drop them onto a sand base or cement them in too? I take it I can just then drill down into the slabs when erecting the greenhouse?

    Levelling a lawn

thank you. It's lawned, so I'm going to remove the lawn layer, and then dig out the raised area to level, and then fill with hardcore/aggregate for a potential concrete base. Should do the trick. Will check those links out now. Thank you for the reply & advice, appreciated.

    Levelling a lawn

Thanks I think as the dip is only slight, using hardcore with some edging will probably do the trick. I just wanted to confirm my thinking. Thank you for the reply.

    Levelling a lawn

Towards the bottom of my approx 90ft garden, a slight left-right dip occurs making the ground a bit uneven. Enough to prohibit the installation of say a Greenhouse, without some type of levelled foundation. I do indeed want to install a Greenhouse in the spring, and wondered the best way of...

Can this orange worktop material be identified?

no idea then pal, you'd of thought someone must know. Its definitely an acquired taste though - it looks porous, so I'm not sure how well it would even work as a kitchen surface. Can you imagine 10ft of work surface in this stuff in Orange

Can this orange worktop material be identified?
