We have an oil delivery booked for Friday but we ran out earlier today. We topped the tank with 150L from containers, bled the first boiler from the Allen key until the oil ran free and it fired up fine.
Did the same on the second one but that had an E9 over temp error. We reset the thermostat...
Thank you. I just got back from the customers and the CH valve is gone. I observed the HW valve moving the arm but the CH one was dead. I moved the arm by hand and it turned off the boiler but there was zero resistance so the motor is clearly shot.
Last question. It is a Drayton ZA5 valve...
Internal wall hung and non system going on the pictures on the grant spares site. The control panel is a MPCBS108
I thought the frost stats wired into the wiring centre but if it is somewhere else then I will check it.
Thank you.
I am an Electrician and I have just been called to a Grant Vortex Eco that will not turn off.
All the external controls are correct. The 2 control wires from the wiring centre to the boiler switch the 230v on and off when you request HW or CH. However, with both of them off the boiler still...
Thanks for the replies. I didn't realise these water to water heat exchangers were so efficient. Well I will wire the pump in about a week and we will see how it runs. Thanks again.
I am an Electrician and I have been asked to wire up the electrics for a friend's Biomass boiler that is located in an outbuilding. I am deeply concerned about the planned heat exchanger in the home and I have a question.
The plan is to install a small heat exchanger (shoe box size) inside the...
I wish to cut out some blockwork for a doorway on the 1st floor. The blockwork has nothing directly above it but is close to a steel that supports the roof. A picture says a thousand words so how close to the edge of the steel can I cut the red line?
Just to be clear, I will be removing the...
Check it where mate? Before the pump it is just gravity and the tank is only a few inches higher than the pump so it is next to nowt and at the outlet in is actually nowt. Sorry if I am missing something...
OK I can see the solenoid drawn on the pump on the side that has a plastic cover over it. I will pop it off tomorrow and check if there is pull and then check the voltage and resistance if not. Thanks again all....
Thanks Oilhead, that rules out a blocked filter then. Given there is zero coming out of the pump that is spinning I suspect the issue is a closed solenoid. Patience is a virtue they say...
Thanks for the response.
When I press the lockout button the lights flash orange and green and the motor kicks in for 15 seconds. You can feel the small vibration of the motor in the pump body.
Then the light flashes green and green for 5 seconds and I believe the ignitor is firing because...
Our Nans Worcester 12/18 ran out of oil and I did the following after the tank was filled to the brim.
1) Removed the bleed nut and nothing, not a drop.
2) Removed the flexible feed hose and nothing there either, even when dropped in a bucket at ground level it only gave a few drips.
3)...
