Water drips onto sill (bay window, flat roof)

Do you not have guttering where the roof tiles run off on to the flat bay window roof? That guttering catches the water off the main roof, for the flat roof of the bay window this should have a downpipe that runs in to the main down spout? If that downpipe is blocked with moss etc, this is when...

    Tarmac Installation (old flower bed)

Hi, would anyone know if cold tarmac would work for filling in a flower bed? The current drive is tarmac and I want to fill in a space about 10ft x 4ft. Thinking 100mm MOT1 and then cold tarmac on top. Hire a whacker plate to tamp it all down. Would that work or is cold tarmac lay not right...

    Replacing Old Loft Window

Any idea what the fitting cost would be on a window this size? Would I be right in thinking its a bit easier when its a replacement as the cut out is already there making the fitting a little quicker?

    Replacing Old Loft Window

This is an old sky light that pivots in the middle and does open, has a very old handle on it to open/close. I have just remeasured and the actual window including the sash is 1100mm (h) x 1065mm (w).

    Replacing Old Loft Window

I need to replace an old loft wooden framed window, it doesn't appear to be a Velux window and I would guess at it being 20 years old or even older. It appears to be an odd size so I am wondering whether it is better to try and replace with a smaller window dimension or a larger window...

That is a fair amount of washing ;) I probably do between 6-10 loads a week so not that much in comparison.

Washing Machine Belt - Cutting in to Plastic Drum Casing?

The belt had come off about a week ago, so I put it back on and it has stayed on. I suppose the fact it is moving and had come off in the first place, first time in 8 years, would suggest there is not enough tension to keep it in place. The heating element also seems to be playing up but it is...

Washing Machine Belt - Cutting in to Plastic Drum Casing?

Hi, My washing machine recently started to make a strange noise, on removing the back and looking at the belt, I can see that it has started to cut in to the plastic of the drum casing? If I take the belt off and try to realign it, the belt seems to go on central, but after a wash it is back...

    Spray painting advice

Ive just ordered the Wagner Universal Sprayer W690 direct from Wagner, was £239 currently £139. Like foxhole say's, the paint is important and the viscosity/thickness it goes in the machine at. I will probably give the kitchen units a sand using P240 and then clean them off with a degreaser...

    Kitchen Paint Advice

I would second Dulux, I always use the Easycare in high traffic area's like the hall, and then Kitchen and Bathroom when doing these rooms. Has always been pretty durable for me and if you go with the matt finish it is easy enough to go over area's without if being obvious as it just blends in...

What paint and method on stairs and bannister

It basically needs sanding down and then painting with a good wood paint. Did you have a finish in mind, gloss or satin for example? I have just done my skirting with Leyland Trade Acrylic Primer Undercoat Paint White (Toolstation) and then Johnstones Aqua Satin Brilliant White (Johnstones...

Adding a new radiator - combi boiler

No not really, there is one radiator in the hall that has a bit of a cold spot in the middle but other than that the rest seem fine.

Adding a new radiator - combi boiler

Ok thanks. Is it worth getting the system power flushed at the same time?
