    Toilet pan connector replacement query

Bah... tried with a 14 degree connector and a 3.5'' adapter. The adapter got pulled up slightly and this lets the water come out. Then tried with a short flexi connector but it had the same effect on the adapter. There isn't a lot of traction for it, so it comes out at the slightest...

    Toilet pan connector replacement query

Update... picked up a McAlpine WC-F23S Straight Flexible WC Connector, the 140-310mm one as it appeared to be the shortest. It went into the cast iron pipe easily, seemed like there was a few mm of play. I was expecting there to be a bit more resistance, but I can't get it in any more than...

    Toilet pan connector replacement query

Ah, so I pulled off the old pan connector, and as Hugh suggested, it was a case of two connectors stuck together. The pipe is cast iron. Of course I couldn't find my calipers or anything like a flexible tape (cloth?) measure, so I used a ruler and it shows about 4 inches. From our previous...

    Toilet pan connector replacement query

Thanks for the advice. I'll have a go at ripping it off later today and seeing what lies beneath. All sorts of surprises in this house, nothing has been as expected so far :-) I'll post back with what I find. I've got a Vernier caliper set handy to get the diameter of the pipe.

    Toilet pan connector replacement query

Hi all... Figured I'd have a go at replacing the old leaky toilet in our WC, as we have another bathroom to use if I make a hames of it :-D. This toilet was put in I would say around 2000, we bought the house a few years back and are slowly replacing things. I removed the mask behind the...

Slow leak in bathroom from tub drain

iya - it looks like there is a big plastic nut (?) securing it with some adhesive, I imagine that I should be able to gently loosen this, apply some sealant and then tighten back up? I've never done anything with plastic-y things like this and fibreglass, so understandably cautious. (actually...

Slow leak in bathroom from tub drain

Just checked - it is indeed coming from the colour-changing LED, rather than the drain.

Slow leak in bathroom from tub drain

Hi - good eye, there is a LED light thing and then further up there is the overfill bit (not sure what it is called). I'll fill the tub up again and see if that leak is coming from the light or the drain.

Slow leak in bathroom from tub drain

Hi all - have a bit of a slow leak under our bathtub, looks like it is coming down from the drain - based on the trails left over time. We only discovered this as a pipe broke, it looks like it has been like this for some time. Can anyone recommend a product that would seal this?

Droplights, fan in bathroom stopping intermittently

Swapped out the switch, new one no longer buzzes/fizzes. The dead droplight is still dead, so it is most likely the transformer. It is an Aurora AU-60T. I've read on the forum that they're not the most long-lived brand/model? The fan is still acting strangely. Sometimes it comes on as...

Access hatch for drain in conservatory?

Hi - apologies if this is the wrong forum! I'm looking for an access hatch or lid to cover a drain in our conservatory. I'm not sure of the proper term. Not sure if it is a manhole cover, as it would be a very small man who could fit down there. The previous owners of the house put a...

Droplights, fan in bathroom stopping intermittently

Hi - no, I've not fitted any leds, they're halogen mr16 types. They've been in there since before 2010 I'd say, when the previous owner re-did the bathroom.

Droplights, fan in bathroom stopping intermittently

OK - thanks, was planning on swapping it out - wasn't sure if it had a bearing on the weird drop-outs. Thanks.
