    Outside Light help

Thanks guys. The security bit isn't too much of an issue to be fair, nothing to steal round here. The light on when that area is triggered is fine.

    Outside Light help

Hi, I want to replace our outside light. It's mains powered and the switch is in the house. It has motion detection so it comes on when it detects any movement in the garden which means it's useless as it comes on a lot during the night plus it's so shabby. Ideally I'd like one with multi...

    Brown tips on border plants

No they don't flower. Should I cut away the brown? No pets in this house either.

    Brown tips on border plants

Hi, This border plants (no idea on what they are) have dead ends. I'm not sure if this is a natural thing or spill over from patio magic cleaner that I use once a year. Can someone give me advice on how to make them look healthier and more green? TIA

    Climber advice

Sadly, not my doing! I would have used steel pins. You should see the cedar panel fence the other side....... Yeah, a wire frame would work thanks but just wondered if any could climb without man made help.

    Climber advice

HI, Difficult to see in winter but there's a young Virginia creeper doing well on the back wall. We had an idea that another creeper might compliment it growing up the sides of the door of the shed. The sun is coming from the same direction so it should do as well as the Virginia creeper. The...

    Removing loo screws

Good news. I went to Wickes to get a multi tool but the guy said that a junior hacksaw would do it. I was dubious but a tenner for one and spare blades has done the job. Thanks guys for your inputs.

    Removing loo screws

Hacksaw won't work as it can't get low enough due to the nobbly bit at the end. Anyway, you can't push the screw up enough to get enough space between the head and the basin either. I'll go look for a multi tool or similar, thanks guys. Scabby hacksaw left by old builders.

    Removing loo screws

Hi, I'm a novice trying to replace a loo seat. It's got corroded and I'm just left with these screws where the bolt is seized up (wd40 does nothing). There's no space either underneath or on top for my hack saw. They wont break as they aren't corroded enough. It's like I need bolt cutters but...

Good point. TV is 17kg and wall mount says it supports up to 45kg.

    TV mounting help

Hi, I've just realised that the new tv I bought is 65 inch and the existing mount (link here) is for 55 inch max. Is this a problem? It does seem to rest on it ok. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07S94N2FM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_image?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Additionally, the best position...

Can I just smash this up?

Just to close out this post! My old builder was passing and he had a tool that look like a small hand held pneumatic drill and he 'top sliced' it. He said it was a real tough one and really bedded in. Charged me £20 for 15 mins work. Gave him a bottle of wine as well as I thought that was too cheap.

Can I just smash this up?

Not enough height. The stones would then at the same level as the base of the door ledge. Plus I'd need so many bags of chippings and at £13 a bag from B&Q they were the more expensive ones.

Can I just smash this up?

No. It's just a patio slab at the end which matches the rest of the patio out of sight. It was just put there to put plant pots on etc. The other small square brick thing was going to be a little storage box or something built up but was a stupid idea. Hence the idea to have the pathway all the...
