    Shower pump leak

Apologies didn't think to post a photo. Hope this works! Following on from what I said above it looks like the hot outlet is where all the gunk is. Can't see a make/model unless that's on the wall side.

    Shower pump leak

Hi I have a leak on my shower pump. The pump is quite old now (20+ years) and it's just seeping out where the copper pipe enters and exits the pump and it looks like it's only the hot in and out side (must have been happening for a while as the carpet is a bit damp around the pump). I've...

Creating driveway - groundworks/gas pipe issue

Hi I'm planning on digging out the garden on the front of my property to create off road parking. Around 3m from the boundary with my neighbours the front wall of the garden has the gas supply pipe coming out of the pavement next to the wall about 60cm on a standing pipe type thing and then...

    uPVC window handle problem

Many thanks for the reply. Yes, the spindle hole has disintegrated, tried to take a photo to show but my camera is rubbish! I did think of using something in the spindle hole to try and get it to turn - I'll see what I've got that might fit. It's an upstairs window with external beading and...

    uPVC window handle problem

Hi Hoping someone can help. :) I have a top opener on my bathroom window and as I don't have trickle vents I normally leave it in the locked position but not fully closed for ventilation. I tried to fully open it this morning and the handle moves but the locks/catches are not retracting. I've...

    Thermostatic Mixer Shower

Thanks again Terry. I wondered what that fitting was but that must be it - a non return valve. So I'll isolate the hot at the combi and as you say the rest of the household can still fill the kettle and flush the toilet!

    Thermostatic Mixer Shower

Thanks Terry. Sorry I should have described the photo. The nearest pipe is the cold with the tee going up (with isolation valve) to the cold bath tap and into the wall for the shower (this also has an isolation valve). The furthest pipe is the hot and this also has an isolation valve on the...

    Thermostatic Mixer Shower

Hello all Our thermostatic mixer shower above the bath has given up the ghost after 10 years (think it's the cartridge). It doesn't owe us anything and is looking a bit worn anyway so I've bought a replacement shower as a straight swap. I've taken the bath panel off and there is an isolation...

    Thermostat problem

Excellent, yes thanks that works. I was used to the old on/off type timer where off meant off. As you say if the temperature is set high enough it is likely to be on most of the time. I guess that's why they call it settings 1-6 rather than on and off. Thanks again.

    Thermostat problem

Hello all Long time since I've been on here (had to re-register). Anyway, we had a new Worcester Bosch combi boiler fitted a couple of months ago (and very nice it is too.) The thermostat fitted downstairs at the same time is a Honeywell CM907 programmable 7 day thermostat. I've programmed...
