Thanks - one other question - mostly when I push the Manual override lever to get some HW there is resistance - but yesterday morning there was none, suggesting the valve had opened ~ today its back to previous form. Probably need to change the actuator anyway but this would seem tosuggest...

I'm happy to change the whole actuator if that's easier - think I can get similar one for about £45. Question is though can I do this without draining the system? Thanks for your help

Thanks Boilerman 2. I have traced the fault I think to the actuator on the Hot water feed (there is a separate one for the CH) When the Programmer is on for HW and the manual override switch is used the boiler fires. However the switch appears to be spring loaded so it won't stay in position...

I have an oil boiler that seems to be working fine in terms of heating the house but less well in terms of the water which in the last few days is only lukewarm I have an immersion heater which seems to work ok so I'm guessing its not a thermostat issue on the HW cylinder. I am wondering...

Could use nomorenails or similar but wanted something that would do the job - but not ruin the skirting if I ever want to take it off. Would the laminate flooring glue do the job? Thanks

Quite small - a few mm - just wanted something to help hold it steady and prevent water ingress I'll expermiment on some off cuts to see what works best Thanks for your help

Thanks PB. The floors not complete so we could 'easily' lift the floor as suggested and the good news is that it seemed pretty solid. The downside of that is that because the joins have all been glued the length that is not quite locked in has remained solidly that way. So worth a try but...

Thanks PrenticeBoy. Part of the floor is under the door frame now which might be a problem - but are you saying lift the floor - pop the joint out and then refix ~ assuming the glue will allow?

Well I'm not sure if its the bioler or the fuel pump I can hear but when its switched off it sort of powers down - so not abrupt - assuming what I am hearing is the fuel pump
