I took out and opened the door lock. Could find nothing wrong with it and put it back. However, I ordered a new one just in case. Then it dawned on me I never took the filter out since I bought it ten years ago.
There was some sludge there clogging it, caused by undissolved washing powder...
When I say scalding hot, I wanted to mean it is top hot as per tank temperature. And yes it is gravity so I think the pressure from the main and the hot is too vast to control it. But then I ask why do I not have the same problem in the sink tap? The hot is garvity and the cold is mains.
My washing machine has started to stop before the spin... or perhaps rinse. In actual fact I have noticed that at times it stops at other various points of a cycle depending which program I use, but mainly before the spin. The door lock also flashes. The door lock sometimes also flashes before...
I had a new shower room fit on the ground floor some years ago. The cold is direct main, hence very good pressure and the hot through the tank upstairs with adequate pressure. There is also a sink, both single lever mixers (pic of shower tap attached). All was well for a few weeks but then, only...
Thank you guys, the engineer came this morning. He told me that the boiler still looks in a very good condition and works beautiful. Problem is the pump and needing a flush as most of you mentioned. He also recommended to change the boiler eventually but does not consider it as an imminent job...
Hmmm, the loud banging noise is heard coming from behind the boiler where the pipes are actually. At one point it sounded like metal clanking, like someone scraping a spanner across a u-shaped metal rod then hitting the end at quick successions. It sounds very scary! I can live with the howling...
It is actually 20 years old thinking about it, still old. But most parts are not that old. The only thing that looks aged is the exchange heater. Fan changed regularly, and the pcb only a month ago.
I think ear plugs is what I need. I do have a feeling I may have to change it soon but it's been low maintenance and any thing that went wrong so far I found it easy to replace.
For many months my boiler has been making lots of howling and flute noises. The last two days this increased and now there is banging and knocking and kettling. I trust this is caused by the 25 year old exchange heater. This is not a job for me so called an engineer who will be coming tomorrow...
Finally I have good power coming through the plugs with no drama. However, the replacement I bought is different than the rest and I am just wondering if it is the correct one. Please have a look at the picture and kindly advice. It is the one in the middle which is quite diffent than the rest.
Thank you so much for your help. At least it is something easy to sort. Now my daughter can have a reading light that works... and whatever else she can plug in.
Once again thank you.
