Worcester Greenstar CDi Compact - Return Temp (i14) much higher than pipe surface & rads

Landlord came round, felt the radiators and said "they are hot the heating is working. it's a ground floor flat it will be cold. Just turn up the thermostat it will get warmer". Took some time to get them to agree to send a boiler engineer round. Also seems that the bathroom extractor is a...

Worcester Greenstar CDi Compact - Return Temp (i14) much higher than pipe surface & rads

To clarify, the i14 return sensor in the boiler menu was 55-56°C, but the actual radiator surface was only 42°C. I have never seen the i14 drop below the 55C. Since it's staying above 54°C, I assume I am getting zero condensing efficiency? I'll wait for colder weather to try 70°C flow, today...

A spokesperson said: "Turning the thermostat up higher does not make your home warm up any quicker." Really?

I have a digistat thermostat, it modulates the boiler firing up and down as the target nears to stop it from overshooting, so yes it takes longer to get to the target in very cold weather.

Worcester Greenstar CDi Compact - Return Temp (i14) much higher than pipe surface & rads

Good morning and thank you for that info with the Maths! It's much warmer outside today so the boiler won't work so hard, I dropped the output flow to 60C the actual readings 15 mins of running were output flow 63.5C return flow 55C Pump i16 is at 100% and i17 is 30%, radiator still managed to...

Worcester Greenstar CDi Compact - Return Temp (i14) much higher than pipe surface & rads

Thank you for responding sir! 2.1E is set to 4. Boiler output flow is set to 66C though varies around that. When boiler return flow temp i14 is 58C then i16 is 92% and i17 is 32%. When return flow temp i14 reaches 60.5C then i16 is 96% and i17 is 35%

Worcester Greenstar CDi Compact - Return Temp (i14) much higher than pipe surface & rads

Hi, I have moved into a 2 bed flat built in the 90s and trying to figure out why I heating problems even though the central heating and boiler "works" something is not quite right. There is a separate issue of a communal extractor system always pulling air out of the bathroom which I will ask...

Partial toilet blockage - plumber came and said it was worn

I'm going to see whether I can get the 'bomb' locally, otherwise a more specialist spare part. Don't know why the guy who came did not suggest just changing the 'bomb'! cheers

Aha - many thanks! I did a google search an I understand more about syphonic toilets now! And I found in the cistern lid that I have a Balterley Bathrooms, Vitreous China, Carina II toilet which according to postings on other sites is a syphonic. So what is my next step - try to get a...

Partial toilet blockage - plumber came and said it was worn

The toilet is probably about 20 years old - I don't know what a syphonic pan is. Cistern water level is fine.

Partial toilet blockage - plumber came and said it was worn

I was away and my wife called in a plumber as the water would rise to the top of the bowl then drain slowly away. I've no idea what the plumber did - perhaps poked around with a wire or used a plunger - nobody was watching him. In the end he said the toilet was worn out??? It is a...

Well actually yes I was getting pixellation (if that is what blocky pictures are) on some channels, gradually over time it was more and more channels. Sky came and replaced the box, which was ok for 24 hours then the same happened again, so they replaced the box again, same problem so they...

which is good make for undersink water filter?

As this post got no answers I can only assume that there is really no difference between any filter manufacturers or that, like petrol, all filters really come from the same place!

which is good make for undersink water filter?

Hi, I want to fit an undersink water filter with tap but am getting confused as to which is a good make and what really needs to be filtered as there seem to be too many options! I used to have a springflow but have just moved to a house that still has lead pipes and from what I can see...
