Hi all weird one this.
Our hot water tank sprung a leak about a week ago and was replaced, none of the pipework apart from some of the fittings to the new tank has been changed but our bathroom radiator which is plumbed into the hot water no longer gets hot.

just had a look here fig 6 pg 3 is very close to my set up but no non return valve and no essex flange or gravity loop is fitted to my system.
it seems whoever plumbed the existing pipework was a goon.

I cant see any vents, the hot feed is teed off the pipe that comes out of the top of the hot water tank it then goes up into the loft and is raised about 1ft above loft floor level before runing onto the input of the shower pump
has the hot supply got a non return valve fitted after the pump ?
no non return valve
it is cause the cylinder is fed from the same tank as the cold.

Hi all I have a bit of an odd one for you.
the shower in my bathroom is plumbed so that the feed pipes come down from the celing to the mixer tap, the shower is fed by a salamander ct50 pump which is located above the shower in the loft, the ct50 is listed as having a posotive head.

Hurrah all sorted.
drained the system removed the valve and stripped it down then cleaned all the gundge out of it.
rebuilt refit test and it all works ok.
It was fouled by a small amount of black sludge, whats the best way to de-sludge the system without going down the expensive power...
+1 dont drive it like that it WILL dump the oil and wreck the engine .
you could seal the plug on with liquid mettal + alraldite but this is a tempoary bodge and if you do it right you will be needing a new sump or the old one removing and reworking.
in case you missed it the first time...
Try piston heads for audi specific forums but I suspect the discs front and rear should be realy easy to change.

also remember that you need to change all the pads as well as otherwise you'll knacker the nwe discs in a very short time...

checked the valve and the springs are ok, reading all your coments I think the valve may be passing water...
thats the valve alright, I'll try and post a couple of pics later on of the set up as I think you may be right about the pump running from the boiler as its downstairs and the hot water tank is upstairs.
need to go to the inlaws now for bh tea :)
