    Gas pipe corrosion?

Thank you. It’s a bit difficult to make a pipe accessible under an amtico floor? Perhaps the pipe could have been run into a casing, but regardless, you’d still need to run a long section of it into (and out of) a casing to reach the middle of our kitchen

    Gas pipe corrosion?

Could do with some advice please. We have a kitchen island which contains a gas hob. The copper gas pipe runs in a trench dig into the floor, with screed and Amtico vinyl flooring laid on top. It’s been down for 12 years. I noticed a lump in the floor yesterday. The lump is possibly 4-5...

Spray painter has messed up kitchen carcasses

No he wasn’t paid to spray inside. He has sprayed the edges and failed to mask the inside of the cupboards, so there is very unsightly spray paint

Spray painter has messed up kitchen carcasses

Thanks for your replies. It’s a holiday let, unfortunately, and the rest of the property is pretty ‘posh’ so I can’t leave it like this. I could probably live with the cupboards under the sink, but it’s in every cupboard including eye level ones where the crockery is stored

Spray painter has messed up kitchen carcasses

Hi - I have recently had a spray painter into a property to help renovate my existing kitchen. The carcasses were fine, we bought new doors and he resprayed both. He did not respray the inside of the cabinets, and unfortunately they’ve been left like this. The carcasses are vinyl wrapped. I...

    Plumbing and draining shenanigans!

Ah - I've read that thread before when looking on google for answers. From sniffing, the problem emanates from the cupboard under the sink rather than either of the plug holes or any appliance. The plug hole smell before Christmas may be a red herring, it was what started the whole thing off...

    Plumbing and draining shenanigans!

thanks for your replies -I'll read the thread you linked to. Yes, we built a side extension. The ensuite toilet links directly to the soil stack running down the side of the house (the extension wall) because it's right next to it. Our main bathroom has it's own soil stack which drops down...

    Plumbing and draining shenanigans!

We have a detached house that we renovated 3 year ago. It had all new plumbing and drains fitted. The side of the house (where the tall black 'air vent' pipe is) is about 3 metres from the boundary fence, which is bordered by our neighbour's tall ash trees (small leaves - relevant!). About...

    Neighbour starting to grate...

Our neighbour rebuilt his house 2 years ago. The house isn't finished yet. He has patio doors at first floor level (his bedroom) which overlook our garden and that of our neighbours. He got permission for this on the basis that the flat roof outside was not to be used as a balcony. TO prevent...

Floors in extension have dropped, cracks in door frame

Thank you for your continued advice, it's much appreciated. I was so concerned that I spoke to the builder and he came to look at it this morning. He is quite satisfied that it's down to settlement and says he sees similar (and worse) all the time. He said that when a house is being renovated...
