Water was coming out of the overflow from the cold water cystern. It was filling up as water was coming back into the hot water cylinder from the mains (via the shower thermostatic mixer), ie the wrong way. That has been fixed.
Now the pump keeps running, i have now been told that there is a...
The story is:
Our immersion heater was spewing water out of the overflow, the plumber came and fixed it by putting in a new one way valve (I think something to do with ensuring that as there isn't a lot of pressure hot water would still come out when we needed it) and a shower mixer in the...
OK to check I have found the instructions and the condensate is on the underside of the boiler - the instructions then start talking about the condensate siphon and that you turn the bayonet catch anticlockwise fill with water and then replace.
Is the siphon the same as the trap?
And I am...
I have done some research and I see now what is being talked about BG do a fixed price come and fix it.
I will see if I can do something with the condensate trap but still not sure how that is giving me the error I am getting (but as you can tell i don't know a lot about boilers)
Do you mean that the condensate trap might be too full as I understand it has to have some water in it.
I think I need to get somebody out - when you say fixed price is that going to someone like BG or Plumbforce? Or do I go direct to Vaillant?
thanks for all your help
Thanks.am not sure about your interpretation of the symbols but you could be right!
Think I need a plumber don't I, was hoping for something trivial no such luck.
I now have better information. There is an error code f32 and two icons in the display one that looks like a house with an arrow coming out of it and a second that looks like a hairdryer. Any advice please?
Ok i will check that - that is for the water pump isn't it?
Not sure how these things work (guess that is why I am asking here) so no idea why that would make it turn off but I can check.
Anything else i should look at when i go to check tonight?
Tony
I'm not sure - I will sit and watch it this evening and post a reply either later or tomorrow. Please keep a look out as would appreciate any thoughts.
Thanks spudkey but it has turned itself off so it won't fire up. It's exactly as for the automatic shut off when there isn't enough pressure except there is pressure.
Our boiler was switching itself off and that turned out to be because the pressure was too low. Pressure now ok but it is still switching itself off - no error codes just S7 & S8.
Turn it on and it works ok until it turns itself off
Any ideas?
