Vaillant ECOtec plus - no hot water unless CH on....help!

There are two Drayton ZA5 two ports. I slid open the manual release on the side and the pump fired up. In addition I turned up the control on the boiler with the picture of the raditor on it to 3/4 and boiler fired up and stayed on...I did not realise that the dial with the hot tap does...

Vaillant ECOtec plus - no hot water unless CH on....help!

So I could remove the actuator and check to see if it moves on/off as I switch the tank stat? To get hot water on a temporary basis I could switch the valve manually (CH not on at the moment obviously)

Vaillant ECOtec plus - no hot water unless CH on....help!

Hi Folks, Wondered if you could give me list of possible causes before I pay for a call-out? Is this anything obvious/daft? Is there anything I could check (obviously non gas related!) from a DIY perspective? System is open vented, with a hot water tank upstairs of unknown age. The boiler is...

Which Underlay for felt shingles? Modern Membrane or Felt?..

Been getting quotes for materials for me to cover my 50m sq shed roof. Some offer old style underlay felt, some offering cromar vent 3 breathable membrane or equivalents. eg. http://www.sandpipersupplies.co.uk/shop/buy/Cromar/Vent_3_Breathable_Membrane_122gsm_50m_x_1-dot-5m_Roll/ The...

    Paintbrushes

+1 B&Q fine finish. For the price there is nothing that comes close especially with WB or where you need a good finish. Ive tried everything.... Purdy good but expensive and not worth the extra...IMO

Shed size limits? what is the max?

Point noted on the electrical work. Drains not needed unless the missus decides she wants a jacuzzi down there. Probably not with two teenage lads on the xbox in the background. A bit worried my porch might take take me over the limit though? How can I check? By accident I double posted...

Shed size limits? what is the max?

Hi Folks, Building the biggest shed/workshop I can before building regs/planning kick in. Can I just check how critical things are? Shed is 7.3x4m with a 4m high pitched roof. It's 2m away from boundaries and takes up about 10% or less of my total garden. In addition it is about 40M away...

big Shed roof options - torch on cost?

Thanks Xenon, when you say 'proper' underlay what do you mean exactly? Do you mean felt underlay or Dupont Tyvek type stuff? if 'felt' I understand this should be laid horizontally - should there be cold sealant at the joints? Ta Moppit

big Shed roof options - torch on cost?

Anyone got a rough idea on cost for options for a new shed roof? I've worked out the roof to be around 50sq metres surface area - it's a standard pitched roof around 30 degrees. Shed is 7m long by 5 m wide. So far I've got proper trusses on 600 centres and am about to board it with 18mm OSB3...

    Roof options for shed

Folks, Building a 7.3 long x 4m wide shed(or er..youth club!) in my garden and want to know best options for roof construction other than fink trusses? There is 1.3m porch on the front along the length (7.3m side) so I want the roof to extend over this. So, total roof will span 5.3m. The...
