How to remove the end fitting from a roller blind?

I used the chain to pull down the recently fitted roller blind and it fell out of the fiitngs leaving a broken fitting at the the opposite end to the chain one. I am going to order a new fitting set as the fitting doesn't seem repairable but how do I get the end out of the aluminium tube? I...

    Concrete post problem

Hi I've just noticed that one of the concrete posts holding my garden fence up is flaking off, showing the metal inside. Is it repairable or is there any sort of coating I could apply ? Thanks M

    Laminate floor in bathroom

Floor tiles sound much easier. I've read the past postings about cork and they seem difficult to find. (and remove if I ever want to) so maybe other forms ar better. Thanks again guys

    Laminate floor in bathroom

Thanks PilotPete. From what you say, it sounds a bit ambitious for me. Sandwell- Cork tiles sound interesting but are they waterproof (and easy to cut round odd shapes)

    Laminate floor in bathroom

I'm thinking of laying a laminate floor in my bathroom and would appreciate any help. How do I get a good fit round the toilet base and sink pedestal and should I leave a gap ? I cannot put it under these cos the plumbing won't stretch :( The floor is only 6' x 4' but also has 2 small...

    Shoul I or shouldn't I?

Thanks Thermo !! You make it sound so much simpler than what I have been reading :) Post mix sounds just what I'm looking for. Where do I get that and how does it come ? Premixed, you say. In some sort of tub? What weight ? In my reading I keep seeing drains to be put in to let the water...

    Shoul I or shouldn't I?

Didn't say I couldn't, <g> just cautious about the weight and mixing of concrete for the foundations. How do I know how much I need and how much water to mix in ? Good advice. Thank you ! <goes back to website to read about concrete again> Morgana

    Shoul I or shouldn't I?

I have always had to do everything myself, single parent and all that :) I have bought 2 bags of sand and cement mix in the last few months to point parts of the party wall- not an immaculate finish but it stops the wall falling down and the honeysuckle will cover it next year <g> I was...

    Shoul I or shouldn't I?

I am a single lady on the wrong side of 50 and am wondering if I should tackle a bit of bricklaying. My garden path, made of Victorian slabs, needs relaying (I'll worry about how I'll do that later ! ) and I need a small retaining wall (12ft long by 2 or 3 bricks high ) to keep it stable as...

How to attach climbers to walls

Hi ! I'm new to this forum and am wondering how to attach my climbing plants to old brick walls. I bought some plastic netting but couldn't find the 'fixings' to attach it to the wall. A year or 2 ago I had some T shaped things that screwed into the wall and the netting clipped into them but I...
