    Draining a primatic cylinder

A central heating pump. I was sure my lecturer said that they could push the water through and burst the bubble. However I am going back 7 years and it was only a passing comment so I could of totally misheard him.

    Draining a primatic cylinder

Hi, I'm fitting a wet room an I've just gone to take the bath out and there are 2x22mm pipes for the heating running in front of it. I need to drain the system and move the pipes. There's no f and e tank and it's not a sealed system. It's been in about 19 years and apparently it's a primatic...

    Long immersion spanner

I'm trying to change an immersion in a water heater. The problem being the box spanner I have is not deep enough, and I can get onto the bottom of the immersion however due to the sides of the water heater I can't get my hands onto it to turn it. Is there an immersion spanner that has a longer...

    New light

Yes I left the blue and red as they were. I definitely kept the individual black as I put some electric tape around the coating when I took it out. Both lights (the hallway and the new one in the front room) are both dull nowhere near the brightness they were.

    New light

I've just changed a light in my front room. On the old fitting it had a long type terminal block with 3 reds, 2 blacks together, a single black and a yellow wire with all the earths connected together and a blue and red connected together in the ceiling. So I connected the 3 reds together, the 2...

    Is it lead?

I already have, however the problem is my friend has decided this is where his washing machine need to go, and has built all the units to suit. However the body of the old stop cock won't let the washing machine go far enough back to the wall. So it unfortunately has to come out. Really hoped...

    Combi Problem

I've got a problem with my Wickes halstead combi boiler. It was working fine yesterday. I'm in the process of doing my house up so am not staying there. I went back today and have had a new fuseboard installed for me. I turned on the hotwater and the boiler started up, however the hot water...

    Whats scrap iron worth?

Hi, I regularly fit new bathrooms, and am regulary removing/replacing baths which are mainly cast iron, weigh a ton and 9 times out of 10 have to be smashed up to get outside. Up until now all the baths have been binned (minus taps, and any copper/lead attached which is removed and scrapped)...
