Any installers of heat pumps, solar, electric heating etc?

Hi Everyone, I posted a few weeks ago asking if any installers who work in new build housing would be willing to answer some questions for my dissertation research for my building surveying degree. My dissertation topic is about government proposals to ban gas boilers in new builds from 2025...

Strange problem with Worcester 28si II

It's a common fault with those boilers and a simple fix but needs an gas safe reg bod to do the work which is why I can't be more specific. It's not a diy fix I'm afraid

It's not the gas valve, get a better engineer in before you waste anymore money!

Beko wm6355w pulsing on and off during spin cycle

Just an update for anyone with the same problem. I changed the carbon brushes which were very worn and this cured the problem.

Beko wm6355w pulsing on and off during spin cycle

Hi, hoping someone can help me! My washing machine seems to just pulse on and off when the drum is turning without getting up to full spin speed. You can actually hear the motor pulse on and off and the drum speeds up and slows down with each pulse. Have tried the diagnostic mode and it will...

    Possible faulty boiler?

Not too sure why your system seems to be working better, maybe you've shifted some air out of the heating cicuit as well. You will need to recharge the EV if you dont want any further problems, check the FAQ on this site which will tell you how to do it correctly. Cheers

    Possible faulty boiler?

Be careful, it sounds like you might have let all the pressure out of the expansion vessel which will probably need re-charging now. Keep an eye on your pressure gauge, you may find it will go up towards 3 bar when your heating has been on for a while.

    Ideal C80FF problem

Hi everyone, looked at the above boiler today and it seems to have an intermittant fault. The heating seems to work fine for several hours but every now and then the burner cuts out and doesn't fire back up. The o/heat stat doesn't cut off and the pump keeps running but it doesn't fire back...

    Vokera 20-80RS Flowmatic fault

Thanks for your reply Tony. I'll check the diverter pin when i go back. I've got hold of the MI's too so i'll work through that as well, I cant really think of anything else that could cause this particular fault other than a possible pcb problem. If anyone has any more input then I'd be...

    Vokera 20-80RS Flowmatic fault

Thanks for your reply DP. I totally understand what you're saying in relation to the pump running, i'm just not sure why it is running! There is definitely no demand and the boiler is just circulating around itself and not the rads. Would a sticky DHW microswitch cause this scenario? If the hot...
