Problem solved. The TRV was sound, removed it without any loss of water.
Put the heat on and manage to access the manifold under the floor and determine which pipes were not heating up.
Heating / boiler off all rads closed. Loosened then removed microbore for naughty pipe at manifold and...
I'll provide as much info as I can:
I have a pressurised central heating system running 8 radiators. All have TRV's fitted although now we have a room thermostat they are all run fully open. The radiator furthest from the boiler and in the coldest part of the house never warmed up last...
The trouble I am having now is a leak where that brass connector goes into fitting 2 or even fitting 3. It doesn't screw in very tight and the water flows out readily. Even with thread tape it's dripping out !
Cheers, that will work if there's such a thing as a flexible connector to go from fitting 1 to fitting 2. The mixer is a concealed one so I would not be able to tighten fittings behind plasterboard and tiles.
I have been fitting a concealed mixer shower with no problem until now. I can't work out how to fit the wall elbow. The supplier has provided various parts but no intructions for this part of the job. Here are the bits in question.
Fitting 1
Fitting 2
Fitting 3

I just did the test to get a netter idea of the difference. I used the bath taps. The hot taps produced 8.5l in a minute whereas the cold had passed the 12l mark in half a minute. I think I will remove the hot limiter and leave the cold one in.
Just for info, the flow limiters have been fitted...
Do you mean I may not have to remove them ? I have taken off the swivel elbows to have a look and theres some weird plastic inside, the hot is a different colour and has a different number on it than the cold. Looks like I need some special tool to remove them too.
Just got a new mixer shower, which I will be feeding from the combi boiler.
The manual has a flyer saying that it is fitted with flow limiters which must be removed if the water pressure is low. Now I reckon the cold water is fine but I'm not sure about the hot water.
I read in another...
Our triton power shower has given up the ghost after 10 years of being rubbish. It never had any power. We have a combi boiler and were going to get a mixer shower. I was just wondering if an electric one would be more eco friendly and more eco-nomical than using lovely old gas.
