The door has lighting, there’s a wire going through the hinge. I checked with the company and they said the door isn’t replaceable and can’t be removed. Here’s a clearer zoomed in photo. The chip is roughly 1cm.

I’ve chipped the corner of a bathroom mirror cabinet. Photo below. The door can’t be removed/replaced - I either have to replace the whole cabinet, or somehow repair the mirror. Is that possible?

I’ve just bought a new AEG washer/dryer. It makes a very loud recurring noise (every second) when I start it. The drainage pipe pulsates at the same time. Then once the spin wash starts, the noise stops. It starts again during the dry cycle. The appliance is integrated. It isn’t vibrating...

Is it better to have a splashback sitting on top of the upstand, or splashback all the way down to the worktop and attach the upstand to the splashback?

I have 14cm tall Victorian skirting board, presumably this type of skirting board is tougher to cut and handle?

It’s not all finished. It’s an old Victorian building though with original skirting, could removing the skirting cause damage? The skirting is white.

I’ve installed engineered wood flooring throughout the home. As the original skirting board has been kept, there’s a gap that needs to be covered by a trim/beading. I need to decide whether to use PVC or wood beading. My concern is painting the PVC and it not blending with the skirting board...

Yes that’s correct, that’s the measurement to the extractor fan, which is why it’s higher. ‘blup’ said the splashback goes before the upstand? Is there any issue doing it that way round?

It’s 850mm + 20mm worktop thickness, so it’ll be 870mm total. Do you mean the upstand gets installed on top of the splashback? My understanding was it would go underneath? Trying to understand the sequence you’ve listed.

Installing Alusplash splashback. The height from the hob to bottom of the cabinet is 850mm. Is it ok to install 750mm splashback, then get the worktop and 100mm upstand installed? Or should the worktop/upstand be installed first? - which could make it more difficult to install the splashback...

Is there a transparent paint or protection solution I can apply to the bricks, that will bring the colour out?

I’ve uncovered a fireplace and will use the space for a wine rack. I’d like to keep the bricks inside and the brick arch above exposed. I’d like to keep them the same colour. Photo attached. What’s the best way to clean them up and which paint/solution to apply?

I think the hexagonal thing below the meter in the picture might be it? But not sure whether it can just be turned, I’m wary of breaking it.
