The panels are great. Ours are a waterproof MDF based material and easy to cut. I used a corner trim they slotted into and some special trims for the bottom that overlap the tray. Much better than tiles. Easy to clean, too. Can't see me ever tiling a shower again.

MDF is pretty stable so it should be good. Regular MDF will warp if it gets damp. I'd use MR MDF for anything in the kitchen, in fact I use it for any job instead of regular MDF as it cuts much better and isn't as soft.

Flash band works ok. Use the primer to get it to stick. Not a proper job but it'll keep the water out for a few more years.

"Why would you want to insulate a shed?" Why insulate any building. It keeps it warmer in winter and cooler in summer. I've insulated mine and it's much better for it.

We had one in a b and b we stayed in. Literally free standing, you could move it with light shove. Seemed to work though.

When ours did something similar it was the flow sensor. Not sure on that exact model but on on ours it's a little impeller that spins when the water flows and that triggers the heat. Except it was gummed up with limescale and spun erratically. A quick clean and all was good.

Have a look at tape and joint plasterboard. Basically you run tape on the joint then filler over the tape. Relatively easy for a diyer to get an acceptable finish. Same filler (easifil) over the screw heads. You can then paint straight onto the boards. The key is to use proper plasterboard...
