Thanks for the reply Rob. I'm hoping to get back there next week and I will look at heights of pipes, check out the access to get at the pipe etc

    Slow draining sink

The grey waste pipe runs behind the kitchen units, I'm not sure where it goes exactly, I'll need to take a look next time I'm there. I'm hoping I can get a fall to that grey waste pipe after I've fitted the new trap, otherwise I guess the kitchen units will need to come out and then hopefully I...

    Patch Repair

We've had a leaky downpipe that has caused this damage to our inside wall. I'm not sure how best to fix it. Obviously I need to scrape out all the loose material. I was thinking I should build it up with 'easifill', but that causes so much dust when rubbing down. Any help would be...

    Shower Tray

Thanks for your reply. The other waste was servicing the bath, that we have now removed and won't be replacing. If we do that, does it mean we can go for a normal shower tray with a waste that is in the middle rather that at the corner of the tray? , Thanks again.

    Shower Tray

Hi, we've removed our shower tray ready for a new shower. You can see the old waste (with a sock in it), the plumber told us we need to get a Mira Flight tray but we want a tray that is lower to the floor. Can we use a lower tray? Thank you in advance.

    Armoured Cable

Thank you for such a comprehensive answer. I'm going to make some decisions about what I want to end up with. Thanks.

    Armoured Cable

Thanks for your reply. Does one end of the cable need to be near the distribution board, or can it just come off one of the existing sockets?

    Armoured Cable

I'm about to build a new patio, and one day have some lights in the garden. I've dug the sub base for patio so I'm thinking I should run a cable for any future lights now. I know it has to be armoured cable, surely it doesn't need one cable per light, does it, or can I run one cable, then take...

    Patching up external render

Thanks for your reply. I've done it know, I hope I've done it right, looks good, I'm pleased. Painted SBR on first, then 4 sharp, 1 lime, 1 cement (got speaking to a guy in Jewsons). I managed to fix some screws into some timber that was contained in the wall and built it up in layers...

    Dry wall joins

I will be building a stud wall, then fixing tapered plasterboard to it, and filling the joints. Problem is, my wall is 2700mm high, which means I will have to fix one board, then sit 300mm of another board on top. This means I can fill the vertical joins (because they are tapered), but what...
