    Kenwood Cooker

Hello, since my wife cleaned our free standing kenwood cooker (gas hob, electric fan oven). Every time we turn the oven on, it trips the house electrics. The fan is still working, as is the smaller oven to the side of the main oven. Its just when we try and turn the temperature knob to use...

    Advice Please?

The finances would allow it, its the principle and the cost of the tiles in the first place. I know what you mean about when you walk straight in and it just doesnt look right. I spent 10 years in the Grenadier Guards, so you can imagine how much it winds me up every time i look :x Right...

    Advice Please?

I think its looking that way  The more i look, the more i keep picking up points. What a waste of cash! The silicone sealant is shocking around the bath, no access to underneath, floor tiles not fixed or grouted correctly, some of the cuts around the ceiling are  Im starting...

    Advice Please?

Thanks for pointing the skirting tiles out, i hadn,t noticed. Thats an easy job to rectify. The radiators coming off anyway for a new one and the tiles put over the pipes rather than cut at the back. Im thinking theres 2 ways around it. 1. would be to remove the whole wall of tiles and start...

    Advice Please?

Unfortunately he has been paid for job. Im an idiot and paid him half before i went away and on his call transferred the rest  Im hoping that the slither is that thin i may get away with a bath to ceiling (the tiles go all the way to the ceiling) corner glass shelf. I just cant think...

    Advice Please?

Thanks for the reply. Im no tiling guru (far from it). it is a window wall and ive measured the tiles. He would have achieved even cuts on both ends had he of started from the middle. It would have also looked more aesthetically pleasing, as its the wall you first look at from the bathroom...

    Advice Please?

Hi, Ive just had my bathroom tiled by a "supposedly" good tiler. As i work away in Afghanistan i wasnt there to oversee the work. Anyway to cut a long story short, ive got back and found he,s left a thin (maybe 1 inch) sliver of tile in a corner as soon as you walk in, so it sticks out like a...

    plaster skimmed

It basically means to roughen the surface (rather than it being smooth) it gives the coating something to cling to.

    Garage being built, advice welcomed...??

I have recently been granted planning permission to build a double garage and would welcome any input on what kind of quotes i should be expecting. Firstly i have read the rules regarding quotes, but im just looking for a ball park figure from the more experienced, so im not totally blind...
