To rectify the boiler will mean turning the flu re piping it so it exits the house at another position then fitting a plume management kit. (This will all be done by my plumber who is a corgi registered fitter) I reckon it will cost around £400 to do this as the plume management kit alone is...
Well, it's a real mess that I'm trying to sort out. We purchased a house this August just passed, and when I viewed it, it looked as though is had a brand new (What I thought) combi boiler in the coal house and a redundant one in the kitchen. When we get the keys, to my surprise, we have a...
I have a Ariston Classico HE 150l Direct Cylinder. Will the hot rod fit this model of cylinder and work correctly?

All help and advice greatly appreciated.
What would be really useful is if somebody would be will to let me know what their annual electricity bill is using one of these direct cylinders. This will help me to decide whether or not to get it installed or buy a indirect cylinder and let the boiler do the heating.
Hi there,
I've just purchased a direct unvented cylinder that is about 3 years old. Not realising that they work off immersion heaters I was wondering how efficient they are. I know I will get a better flow rate of hot water than I currently do, but are they as bad as what people say? The...
The situation is that we bought a house and the boiler wasn't fitted by our chap. We discovered from the neighbour that it was fitted by a DIY er and not a corgi registered gas engineer. Even our guy thinks these parts are way expensive and that the must have made a mistake. He's hoing to the...
Well my gas engineer is a really reliable chap and it's not him who is charging the high price it is the supplier. For a metal elbow to turn the flu around, a plume management kit and a drain kit they've quoted £300 for these parts. Having spoke to him tonight, it appears as though this is...
My question is, is it difficult to do. I have to get one fitted to our boiler and have been quoted a lot by our heating engineer.
the kits on line are £82. Do they just clip into the existing flu?
You have just bought a house where the central heating system has been put in by a non-corgi registered person and the boiler has not been commisioned. That is what has happened to us and I understand that the boiler is illegal as the flue is to near the coalhouse door.
