Double deepth surface box for cable entry area?

Thanks for the direction on how to post pictures. I will remember to take them next time I have a question like this. :) OwainDIYer, that looks like the item I'm looking for. Funny that CEF Chichester branch didn't think of this item when I asked them. The best they managed to think of...

Double deepth surface box for cable entry area?

Hi guys. I'm looking for some white PVC surface box to replace existing however what I'm replacing is twice as deep as a normal surface box and the lower half is used to hide the incoming cable. Has anyone else seen these and do you know where I can get them? I've tried TLC and CEF and know...

    Prefered cable?

Hi guys. I've got to replace some damaged cable running to a submerged pond pump and light fittings at ground level. At the moment I'm going to replace the lighting cable with NYY-J but is this cable suitable to run to the pump or would H05RN-F be better. I'm asking the question as I believe...

    Vynckier MCB compatibility

Well it's "out of the box" thinking but like you say there's nothing wrong with it. Thanks, you've opened up a new world of wiring to me. :) But on the other hand I can't see anything wrong with sticking the whole circuit (include the SWA) on the RCD protected CU providing the emergency...

    Vynckier MCB compatibility

Apologies for my lack of experience and knowledge but are you saying you can fit a circuit direct into a RCD (giving it no over current protection after the RCD because in this case this would be at the main CU)? I've not seen or heard of this done.

    Vynckier MCB compatibility

I understand the potential danger with the RCD taking out the lighting but an emergency light has been included in the design to cover this. So that's my current design but if I went for a small rcd protected CU it the shed I would need to up the CSA of the SWA to incorporate a larger fuse...

    Vynckier MCB compatibility

Yes I meant my post on discrimination. (I just typed diversity again, don't know why I have that word in my brain) As for the RCD, it needed to be introduced for the circuit in the shed and I was merely pointing out that this had been considered (before anyone pointed it out). And as for the...

    Vynckier MCB compatibility

The job relates to my post about diversity. My understanding is by putting the RCD in the shed I now have to protect the SWA whist considering diversity. To do this whist considering diversity means upping the csa of the SWA which was adding more costs to the job than the customer was willing to...

    Vynckier MCB compatibility

4mm SWA 90deg, 3 core. ( I know the SWA doesn't need RCD protection but the circuit in the shed will need to be)

[/url] Thanks. It's for a radial circuit to a shed which will be protected by an RCD.

    Vynckier MCB compatibility

Sorry for brining this post back to life but I now require a Vynckier 32a MCB. Does anyone know where, other than eBay, I might find one or if the GE will fit and where I could get one of those? Cheers, Chris

Consumer unit replacement - main fuse?

That what it says BUT when I reported that I had broken a seal and that they needed to replace it they had a hissy fit and told me I shouldn't have. They also told me that the customer needs to tell them. Funny enough though now each CU I change has had a broken seal and I just stick my temp...
