    Driveway Lighting

The armoured cable is 3 core with a dedicated earth. Does this change anything? If not, then cant i attach the banjo to the casing via an earth cable without needing the gland to connect to the casing.

    Driveway Lighting

Putting aside peoples personal view on whether there is any point installing the lights, how do you connect a gland to a 15mm hole in the outer casing. Can you get a 15mm gland? or can i terminate the swa before the outer casing therefore have the inner cable go through the hole. BTW this...

    Driveway Lighting

    Boss connector leaks

I have had plumbers in to install a new heating system and they connected the boiler condensate to the main stack using a boss connector under the floor boards. Sounds simple enough but the cowboys did not properly glue the connector and missed a small 10mm section underneath. When i use the...

    Push-fit joints and radiator leaks

They are the white speedyfit fittings. I think i am going to have to get someone else in to verify the previous plumbers work. Rather annoying as i chose the plumbers based on Gas Safe register and recommendation. Not annoyed by the leaks as we all make mistakes and sometimes cannot foresee...

    Push-fit joints and radiator leaks

I have just had a new system boiler installed with plastic push fit pipework throughout. Everything seemed fine until i noticed leaks in my ceiling and walls. Managed to find the cause which was a push fit joint in the bathroom above. because the plumber that installed the system would not...

    flickering of power

To put some closure on this for anyone with a similar problem, the reason for the fault was a faulty plug socket. Some fool who had the house previously thought it would be ok to simply connect all the wires with insulating tape for the radial mains rather than connecting via a connection...
