    The reason i ask is that, it has been revealed to me that when my house was built the joints of board had not been taped, thus cracking has appeared. Can i get the joints taped now on the current surface and have the wall skimmed?

    When I say cavity the board was dot and dab we a void of 15mm between it and brickwork. I have no c/breast I meant either end of the wall, however it now seems that the damage is every 600mm although not noticable until close inspection.

    I am going to carry that out at the weekend, as an aside if the cable is pulling too much (Greater than 13amp) although i doubt it with a sky box and TV. Would that cause the noises we heard? I would assume it would trip my consumer unit...

    The last one was about 4/5 hours ago. It gave my wife a fright as they are quite loud... I on the other hand slept like a baby.. :D I am tending to lean towards the board and dabs etc have absorbed the moisture from the skim and they have perhaps expanded then as they shrink the dabs are...
