    paint to stop smells?

If its been treated with something best to find out what, manufacture may give advice on this. For sealing damp areas around an old cottage I have been using SBR/cement slurry, very good on dusty or friable surfaces with minimal odour.

    Paint brush capillary action ?

Yep, I think these have the same sort of wedge after taking one apart, perhaps its doing its job but holding onto water instead of paint? For the moment sorted the issue by leaving brushes (not ideal) inside tub overnight sealing with clingfilm, seems to work okay at least with Sandtex...

    Paint brush capillary action ?

Hello good folks, Some reluctance on my part to post this as it sounds plain daft, I've even taken old brushes apart to see if there is a cavity - let me explain. After cleaning a brush usually in water it gets a good shake, rub down on dry cloth before hanging up for use the next day. What...

If it's water based, can you just not add ..water?

    Thinning Paint.........Advise Please

Thanks, I'll give it a look - btw, that was my round-the-houses way of explaining why I needed to thin paint, stretch it to finish job.

    Thinning Paint.........Advise Please

Head office had to remind the manager to respond three times before he replied, think this was more along the lines of not wanting to supply retail. Completely going off topic, the on-line shop who were super helpful supplied i litre which was short of finishing the job, no problem re-ordered...

    Thinning Paint.........Advise Please

Any advice on thinning Johnstone's WB Aqua Satin, if possible - checked web site and pdf usage guide but no clues, overall superb paint although one or two issues with actual buying. OT but vaguely relevant Contacted Johnstone's head office for help in locating a local distributor, Johnstone's...

    sikkens

Just looked up my old posts to see when my front door was last painted, Aug 2012 with Ruberol Satura. More for a change than anything else, picked up a tin of Colours 'One Coat' Satin from B & Q, very impressed with their matt/silk so thought it worth a shot. First off it's not water based...

    GRUNDFOS Circulator pump

A quick one liner in case anyone following, 18 months plus with replacement pump - no issues at all, runs at about the same noise level which is barely noticeable. Well worth considering given the cost, around 35 delivered.

    GRUNDFOS Circulator pump

Update Grundflos indicated they may start stocking replacement canisters for European customers at some point. That may take some considerable time given their overall lack of enthusiasm, in the meantime I opted for a similar OEM spec pump which is (so far) working well. Bit too early to...

    GRUNDFOS Circulator pump

If we are talking about £50 for replacement head this puts different spin on things (excuse the pun). Please provide a link for your post.

    GRUNDFOS Circulator pump

It's not at all, have you watched the video above? Once the four bolts are removed you have two options either: a) un-wire the head and replace as a complete unit ..or b) slide out the cartridge and replace. This saves on replacing unnecessary parts, saving on time and labour...

    GRUNDFOS Circulator pump

This is the point, there is actually MORE work involved in changing the head than the cartridge itself due to wiring. I think it's lack of knowledge more than anything, also if Grundfos feel they can sell you a whole new pump they will.

    GRUNDFOS Circulator pump

The best way to think about it is by parts. Grundfos have incorporated all of the moving (wearing) parts into a stainless steel canister or 'cartridge'. Think about it, why would they call it a cartridge if it was not meant to be replaced (toner cartridge, ink .... All of the electrical...
