New shower is just a trickle - what is wrong with it?

The problem was down to the packing. There was a little silicon disk protecting the top of the hose still in situ. Once removed, the flow much improved.

New shower is just a trickle - what is wrong with it?

That sounds a bit scary! What sort of other causes could there be do you think? I hope it can be sorted.

New shower is just a trickle - what is wrong with it?

I got in touch with Bath Store manager today who says it must be down to an airlock. The valve and water outlet are an old Aqualisa already in situ. Bath Store just provided a new hose and shower head. The manager said the flow should just be the same as before - except if there's an airlock...

New shower is just a trickle - what is wrong with it?

Thanks Dum, it's a Bathstore shower (and it's just been installed through them). I've tried adjusting the head and it can give a sort of rain effect which makes it appear as though a bit more water is coming out but it's so soft and so weak that it's not effective.

New shower is just a trickle - what is wrong with it?

I've just had a new shower installed. The spray from the old one wasn't power shower quality but it was sufficient. Thames Water says pressure is 2 bar, litres per minute are 24 from water meter but just 10 lpm where it enters the bungalow (perhaps due to furred lead piping). And with it being...

noisy vibrating biasi Activ A 20OV boiler with fumes

I've recently moved house and had 2 year old Biasi boiler serviced. But now it sounds like a noisy vacuum cleaner, like a very loud growl (which varies in depth and intensity) and the whole boiler is vibrating. Also there is also a smell similar to exhaust fumes. Would be very pleased if...

effect of running shower unused for a year

hi, am planning to buy a property that's been vacant for about a year. I tried turning the shower on and brown water came out with dark specks of something in it. Only ran water for a few seconds. I visited the property again three days later and there was a really horrible smell in it that...

    Advice from my boiler repairman

Thanks all of you. I'll get someone else to do a service and ask them to check on the gas pressure and the rest. This is a great site for getting help and information. Thanks again!

    Advice from my boiler repairman

I had someone round to service my baxi solo 2PF boiler. At the end, he referred me to a noise I hadn't noticed before - a constant high-pitched whine, that now never stops while the boiler is on. He said the noise was caused by dirt inside the boiler - he said that the boiler would continue...

    Solo 2 pf30

Once, again - many thanks. Yes, you were quite right about water ingress - rain coming through vent and into back of boiler. Engineer is going to put something like a little canopy over the vent to stop more rain getting in. He heard the noise and felt it had something to do with pump (when...

    Solo 2 pf30

Many thanks! Yes, you're right! It was raining very hard yesterday. But there was no apparent leak above the boiler or upstairs - I checked. And behind the boiler is a party wall. But it's a consideration. I'll try turning the boiler on and see if it still drips. And thanks for...

    Solo 2 pf30

My boiler is 14 years old but it's always had its annual maintenance and a few repairs when necessary. In the last few days it started making a short high pitched sound - like a balloon where you're letting the air out very slowly - it wasn't continuous, just a couple of times. Yesterday...
