Arghh! Condensate tube blocked solid, fan running in water - needs replacing, heat exchanger leaking and needs replacing, burner assembly corroded and needs replacing. No CH or hot water until next week. JOY!

My Baxi 100 HE has suddenly started making a noise like a police car siren shortly after firing up. Very very loud. It literally goes whoo, whoo, whoo! No way of really describing it - but never heard anything like it before - any ideas please?

My boiler failed to fire yesterday. Had a quick look - no mains light on. Checked fuse - seemed OK so intend to call an expert. Today it switched on no problem. Green light on and all OK. Later it went off although still on on the timer - no green light again on boiler so presumably...

Now sorted - bulb has come apart when removing - leading to confusion. Pity no one else realised this so they could help me.

The vent which you say must be closed - was until yesterday when it was changed to an automatic one by the new guy! I will ask the previous guy who is having another (possibly brief) go on Wednesday) about the one on you suggest on the flow :)

It was certainly backfilled from the mains, either from there or from the new vent in the return pipe in the garage.
