    Liquid DPM not drying

I spoke to them and they’ve suggested using another liquid, something called primer…they say it can be used as a curing agent but I’m reluctant to add another liquid to something which isn’t fully dried yet…plus it’s expensive! Just wondered if anyone knew what a curing agent is and if anyone...

    Liquid DPM not drying

Yes, the manufacture date was March 2023 so it should have been in date

    Liquid DPM not drying

These are areas that appear to have dried It’s a strange one, because parts of it that have dried fully are wet to look at, but then other areas are still very wet and look exactly the same

    Liquid DPM not drying

Hi there Ive used liquid dpm on a concrete sub floor but for some reason it isn’t drying quick enough. Some parts of it are completely dry but other parts of it are still very tacky. I mixed the liquid dpm and it’s separate resin really well together, albeit without an electric mixer, but I...

    Interior paint on exterior walls

Ha! The bifolds will be closed overnight but the window is open slightly to let air in and out, but so far with the window open it let’s cool air in overnight and it raises humidity

    Interior paint on exterior walls

It has a 20cm x 120 cm window at one end and 3m wide triple bifold on the other side. I’ve also installed a humidistat fan which in my opinion hasn’t done much.

    Interior paint on exterior walls

This is useful advice. The room is to be used as an outdoor office and maybe a gym at some point. I think I’m being naive in thinking that the outdoor room will be the same as inside the house in terms of RH. When it rains, the overnight RH gets as high as 78% in the outbuilding but then when...

    Interior paint on exterior walls

Hi there I have an outbuilding which I suspect the dud builders had used interior paint on the exterior walls. It’s a double blocked structure with cavity insulation, but I’ve noticed that there has been some damp in the room and humidity is about 77% when I go into the room in the morning...

Filling gap under aluminium bifold doors

Hi there It’s not so much the water that I’m now trying to stop, it’s more to prevent moisture from coming in through gaps underneath the cill. I think I can remove the chipboard but I’m worried that the door frame could bow or bend without the chipboard in place

Filling gap under aluminium bifold doors

Here are a couple more pictures. The bottom of the bifold frame is screwed into the chipboard below but the frame is also screwed into the top and the sides. I guess I could chip out as much as I could and then fill with as much mortar as possible. Then I could paint on some liquid rubber to...

Filling gap under aluminium bifold doors

Hi there The fitters of my bifold doors (whom I am not in touch with anymore) packed the area underneath with chipboard. We had an issue with water ingress which has now been resolved, but how can I seal the inside as best as possible to avoid any moisture or water coming in? I’m worried about...

How to dry out garden room

Thanks for your help, I’ve noticed that the floor is drying out quicker this way with RH in the room down to 55%. But then when I lock the room overnight, I return to 77% relative humidity. I can visibly see the floor looking dryer, but do you reckon this sort of thing takes weeks?

How to dry out garden room

Hi there We had water ingress to the garden room/outbuilding last winter and I’ve finally managed to get the laminate floor up. The concrete sub floor is damp but not soaking. I have a rented fan as well as a domestic dehumidifier on in the room. The question is, do I close the windows while...

    Humidistat (FAN) and relative humidity

Floor doesn’t have a dpm at the moment, but I’m in the process of having it done, with a dpm over the concrete
