Drying time for concrete after boiler leak

We had new vinyl put down about a month ago in our kitchen. About 10 days ago our boiler decided to leak from the auto air vent valve. It wasn't a massive flood but it was a leak that dripped down the wall, onto the floor and then under the vinyl. The vinyl had a nice cushy soft layer underneath...

Vinyl floor bubbling - rising damp?

I've read some things. Generally the big debate about the mythic rising dampness :) Can do. It's in focus and lit enough to see the issue. You can see the bump and the shadow caused by it. If the floor wasn't bubbling it would be flat. Tiles or something. I can't recall exactly. Not...

Drilling for Dryzone being a pain

No carpets. Just laminate. Looked like a solid concrete floor when we had laminate put in. Spoke with Dryzone people and they said just do the holes closer together to be safe.

Cutting paving slabs for damp course

That doesn't appear to be the case in our house :) Upstairs they are under floorboards. Downstairs they don't seem to be. Everything is external. I think the house is built on a concrete slab so it was easier to put all the pipes outside it. What would you want to see more photos of?

Cutting paving slabs for damp course

There are pipes behind that orange wall in the kitchen but the kitchen wall is fine. Wouldn't the leaky pipe cause an issue in the kitchen as well? I'll take a look at the pipes to make sure.

Cutting paving slabs for damp course

I honestly couldn't say. We had laminate flooring put in and it looked like the floor beneath was just concrete. Ah sorry no. The trench is designed to stream water away from the house. Water isn't continuously running through it. Yes. No. The orange affected wall is...

Cutting paving slabs for damp course

Hello :) Just want to come back to this and say we've had the trench dug around the house. It works fine and water flows away from the house. Nice 2 - 3 bricks deep trench. However, we still have a damp issue on the internal wall. There's been a hammock bag resting against that...

Vinyl floor bubbling - rising damp?

About 2 years ago our kitchen flooded. Insurance company came out with a dehumidifier and ran that for a very long time. The guy came out to check our house was dry and said "Its an old house. These things are never perfectly dry so I can't give you a dry certificate. It's close enough though."...

Drilling for Dryzone being a pain

Something I just noticed was the internal back room wall has visible damp but on the other side of that wall in the kitchen there isn't any. I don't understand why damp would come in from outside and only sit in that one side, not both. The bricks outside all look dry.
