    field shelter conversion

Thanks for the replies. Ken G Mac The shelter will be used mostly on weekends as we live 1 mile from our land and tend to do jobs on the weekend and just tend to the animals in the week. The floor is compacted 3/4 down but I will probably lay crosspieces to support a timber floor. The walls are...

    field shelter conversion

I have a field shelter which I want to convert to a room to make a cup of tea and possibly put a wood burner in for the winter. The roof is tin sheet so I want to insulate it. Can I put the insulation against the sheets or do I leave a gap? I'm going to fit tongue and groove timber below.

Garden path repair, what to do please

Thanks Catlad . I've seen quite a few where the bricks come loose at the step so thought by laying them the other way it would be stronger. Do I lay a bed of mortar the whole width or do a framework and then use sand in the middle?

Garden path repair, what to do please

I'm thinking of doing something similar to cover a 4' wide concrete path with two steps in it. If the bricks forming the top of the steps are laid end on will it be a stronger job?

    garage floor

My garage is single brick construction with next doors' garden about 2ft up against one wall and that side is normally damp. I am thinking of laying some sort of plastic tile on the floor to keep things dry. Any suggestions please. Phil.
