Hi,
I have dishwasher which is not near a sink but is directly next to a soil pipe. Due to the construction I can only connect that waste at a height which doesn't leave much space for a standpipe/trap combo, so was hoping a Hepvo trap might help me out.
The planned layout would be a...
A slight update for you, apparently there is a 6mm cable for each oven - yep that's 4 separate feeds back to the fuse board. So I can see how the 22 ways are adding up!
Yep, you said "judging by" so I took that to be a judgement.
I am afraid for some reason there aren't many second hand 17th edition amendment 3 CUs around at the moment, otherwise I would ;)
If I told you it is a second hand kitchen would you alter your judgement?
We only have 4 ovens because that's what came with it. Was seriously thinking of selling one of the ovens to reduce the load and solve the issue, but then that mucks up the whole unit arrangement.
On a slightly related note - when considering diversity for the 4 cookers is it applied:
a) per appliance?
b) per radial/ring they are on?
c) all together regardless of the connection?
Cheers! Phil
The plan initially was to have a single CU in a single place. When he then thought he needed a 3-phase, the plan remained to have the board in the single location. An 8 way TPN board has been specified in his updated quote.
Thanks John.
In terms of Part P certification, if I did get someone new in would they just be able to test the existing runs that have been put in, or do you think he'd want to see them exposed?
Thanks all,
Looks like I will have to try once more to see if I can change my electrician's mind. It's a bit annoying as this only came to light after first fix was almost complete. It's not my choice of electrician - it's one of the people my "project manager" usually uses. Project manager...
According to the sticker on the fuse installed by UKPN about 6 months ago (when replacing 'dangerously' located lead sheathed cable with newer stuff) "100A Fuse Fitted"
They are alarms for failure of the sump pumps - I couldn't find a wattage on the manual so just assigned a nominal amount from the specification. Looking closer at the doc (http://www.deltamembranes.com/wp-content/uploads/Foul-V3-Sump-Installation.pdf) the last page shows the alarm.
I am doing a full renovation on a 4 bed house and once the electrician had got hold of all of the kitchen specs, he reckons we need to upgrade from a single phase to a 3-phase supply. He reckons max demand will be 150-160A.
I was under the impression that it is quite rare for domestic...
Some really useful info here thanks guys.
Guess I will get out a suitable person to check it out. I was hoping to get it cleaned up or boxed in somehow as I'm turning the space into a usable area, so I want to make sure it's fully safe.
Cheers,
Phil
