Old bricklayer and general building back in the day looking for some advice on laying a new driveway.
Looking to have a stab myself, I know it won't be perfect and all that but feel its doable.
Roughly 45m2 previously had sets down and looking to tarmac.
looking for some advice.

We have just put a roof out our small extension, external size is 5x3m with 125 cavity.
Did online calculator to determine the roof components. Came back 7x2 joists spaced at 600mm with 18mm OSB3 board. This has two skylights of 600x1200 and will be covered by an EPDM rubber roof.
Having built...
Thanks for the help, but a little confused. Going to run the facia all round at same depth. But the sides are 2inch higher than the front due to fall created with the firings. So, if run round level, then the side will have a 2inch to nothing gap. How is this overcome
Where putting on our flat roof incorporating two skylights, size approx. 5x3m.
1st question: along the sides do we need to have an overhang to incorporate a soffit, or put the ladder the wall, then clamp a timber on the outside brickwork tight and overboard with our PVC facia. Just have a soffit...
We've just replaced a small extension back of our house. The brickwork comes up around 2.6ft before the inside floor level, obviously needing steps outside.
Should you still fill the cavity just below DPC?.
Should the inside brickwork be lower to allow us to bring up the underfloor insulation in...
We have knocked a room through in preparation to install a frame for dining room doors.
The wall we took out is old imperial size brickwork, with dot and dab board each side.
In areas, especially around the lintel, the depth of plaster to finish level can be 1-1.5 inch deep. What would be best...
We have installed a new bathroom fan with an isolator switch.
The fan comes on when the lights are on and off when switched off. Issue being the fan wont continue to run after the lights are off. It also has a humidity sensor built in, we have tried turning the timer/humidity screws both ways...
Had looked at installing a vent above the shower, however the ceiling is barrelled and had read its not recommended. Also cannot use a glass partition as the shower will be mounted into this wall.
We are renovating our bathroom and adding a shower. Its going in a corner, need to build a stud wall to complete the enclosure, before adding the screen door. Question is should the wall go up to ceiling or just above where the screen will sit?
I'm thinking if three walls are at ceiling, the...
Any ideas/help.
We are renovating the bathroom where all wiring is in the loft and over boarded so cannot get at.
The lighting circuit is wired via a junction box somewhere under the floor. So only exposed wire is the live/neutral for the pull switch and at the other end, live/neutral of the...
Will be using both, there are voids and undulations within the brickwork of 20mm or so. My idea was to use plasterboard adhesive to pack out these areas and thin dabs where the board will be contact with the wall then once set mechanically fix at recommended distance. Plasterboard adhesive is...
We are remodelling our bathroom, taking all back to brickwork. Fitting shower enclosures and wanting to make it warmer. Therefore going to clad walls and floor with tile backer board, namely Qboard from B&Q. Have read numerous conflicting accounts of fitting these panels, from battening out...
