Where putting on our flat roof incorporating two skylights, size approx. 5x3m.
1st question: along the sides do we need to have an overhang to incorporate a soffit, or put the ladder the wall, then clamp a timber on the outside brickwork tight and overboard with our PVC facia. Just have a soffit all across the front of the building.
2nd question: Once the joists are on and the furring pieces added, how is the facia attached along the sides. Obviously there will be a 2 inch to nothing strip along the top. Do i need to cut a length of the PVC facia down to fill in. Or would the overhang of a rubber roof system cover?

Looks much better with an equal sized soffit all round, just extend the ladders out the same depth as the front. The facia at the side are fixed to the ladders and run full depth to the top of the firrings. The deck board then runs over the top and flush with the facia boards to accommodate the epdm and trims.

Thanks for the help, but a little confused. Going to run the facia all round at same depth. But the sides are 2inch higher than the front due to fall created with the firings. So, if run round level, then the side will have a 2inch to nothing gap. How is this overcome
