Just wondering if anyone knows what this would be covering? It's directly next to the waste pipe and on neighbouring properties is where the gutter downpipe would be, and/or a drain, as we have neither (for reasons unknown, our gutter runs into a water butt nearby and no open drain)
It's some kind of loose bead type stuff, yes. First thought would be asbestos. Is there a chance they would keep the tank on use? If only fitting a newer conventional boiler?
Thinking of upgrading our 30+yo Potterton system boiler, but looking for some advice. Parts of the boiler are lagged in asbestos and the header tank is likely made of it. (there's a chance the loft insulation is made of it too). Would this all need to be removed before any work started?
