yes its reclaimed so some of the planks are p.a.r square edged, no tongues. its a job i dont know if i want to take on as i will have to take up some of the existing planks and basically start again. would some kind of plastic membrane be adequate?? but then i suppose i wouldnt be able to glue...

we recently fitted an american white oak staircase and the decorator used a clear laquer, it allowed the grain of the timber to still be seen and protected the wood!!!
recently fitted a kitchen and the worktop fits flush to the wall. the tiles which are going to be used are around 8mm thick. am i best leaving a small gap inbetween the worktop and tile and putting a bead of silicon around it or perhaps put a small upstand on????? any suggestions!
