Raised beds advice for a double incline

Thanks for your reply! I assume I would hammer a row of them flush along the grass line? Would they be ok with the weight of soil id use to fill out? How would I "cap" the ends?

Hi all, I'm currently trying to do something with the pictured border, the concrete on areas is starting to show through and crumble as the foundation is sloped down towards the grass. I wanted to do some raised planters, but I'm limited to what i can attach it to. So i guess i'm asking if...

    New decking not drying

Hi all. I recently had some new decking put in. And since then I've noticed areas that stay wet for days at a time . I was told that the wood was pressure treated to prevent rot and damp etc, but it doesn't look like that's happening. They're due to come out and treat it for me which they say...

How to decorate over this surface

Hi all, I'm decorating my sons room and took the lining paper off a particularly bad wall. However, underneath were some boards which were just flaking. It's difficult to explain, like plasterboard which is peeling. I've attached pictures to help. I'm after advice on how best to prepare it for...

Need help fixing leaky radiator valve

Hi All, (Apologies, my plumbing skills/terminology need much improvement) I recently found a leak on the joint of a TRV valve coming from one of my radiators, it seemed to be where the pipe enters the valve (see image and imagine the silver pieces of the valve are bone dry). I had someone...

Can I remove wall vent and how?

Hi all, I've just removed a radiator to decorate and figure out why it's so draughty behind it and found a vent leading outside. The bricks have come away from around the vent and it's a bit of a mess. So can I remove this vent? If so what's the best way to do it and fill in the gap it leaves...

Damp proof course and raised external floor

House is from the 60's, so around 60 years old. Not sure on ground floor..i jumped up and down...and it sounded solid...i could pull up the carpet and check under a wooden board maybe? Whole ground floor is going to be refloored in the next few months anyway. Will try your pointy stick method...

Damp proof course and raised external floor

Hi wessex..i wasn't ignoring your question, but it seemed to be escalating between you and woody so I was steering clear. I don't know the answer to your question though. How would I be able to tell if they're cavity vents or the underfloor ones?
