    Insulation under shower tray

I'm about to install a shower tray onto a plywood base upstairs. Is it a good idea to keep insulation between the joists like there is accross the rest of the upstairs and also around/under the shower waste? That's what I have done for now as I guess there could be condensation if I don't and...

    Floor Levelling Compounds

Hi, I'm going to level a concrete floor, just for smoothing out ready for a celotex floating floor to be installed on top. Looking at the Setcrete products, Any recommendations between either Latex one or Universal floor levelling compounds? I've used the latex one before but just wondered...

Insulation under slab wet in conservatory?

Hi, I've built a conservatory and i'm almost complete although I have one hold-up. Basically, the dwarf walls are done, floor slab laid, and i've even plastered and painted. My next step was to lay 75mm insulation on top of the floor slab and then put T&G P5 on top and then finally finished...

    K Rend cost

Hi Nige, Its conservatory, There are 2 sets of doors (one single and one double). Dwarf wall all round except one wall which is just over 2m with a large corner. Also rendered above and below the DPC by using a stop/bell bead to prevent bridging. Thanks

    K Rend cost

Hi, I am looking at getting my extension rendered with K Rend, total is 15sqm. Had a couple of quotes and just wondered if £700 for Materials and Labour sounded reasonable? Includes mesh and beading etc also. I live in the South. Thanks

    Conservatory against bunaglow

Hi, I am finally getting a conservatory fitted soon having done all the brickwork myself. My question is, do the conservatory fitters usually put a vertical DPC where the windows abutt the house or is it usually just sealed? I will be plastering the inside so don't want to risk any damp etc...

    DPM across door threshold

Hi, Thanks for this, so it sounds like you would normally just overlap (and seal) the floor DPM and one over the threshold which extends to the outer leaf? I've filled the cavity with concrete under the door opening and poured the slab and the screed will go across the cavity to the outside...

    DPM across door threshold

Hi all, When we put down the DPM and poured the slab the DPM around the doors ended up being pulled tight across the internal leaf of the door threshold, I think because we made sure the DPM was quite flat on top of the sand. I assume the only way to solve this is to cut it and patch it up...

    Screening conservatory floor

Hi, I laid my conservatory floor slab a week ago and I wanted to know if the screening is usually done straight after or is it usually done when the whole thing is finished and conservatory is installed on top of my walls etc... Thanks

dpm meeting dpc at door threshold

Hi Guys, Thanks for all this. As I already had the first image and due to using blocks on the inside and outside skin, I had to go with what I originally thought. We laid the slab at the weekend after many hours but its done. So this is what I plan to end up with. Everything is except from...

dpm meeting dpc at door threshold

Thanks for the image woody. I forgot to mention in my OP that the reason noseall did it like that was because I am using blocks on the inside and outside skin - I then have 1 course of bricks on the inside and outside (but I left the brick out on the inside where the doors are going). So i only...

dpm meeting dpc at door threshold

Hi, I am finally going to lay the floor for a conservatory soon and I will be doing it like this (all credits to noseall :) When the dpm (green line in pic) goes up behind the insulation at the door, should the dpm be left going over the external dpc or to just meet it and cut off? Or does...
