Hi,

I am finally getting a conservatory fitted soon having done all the brickwork myself.

My question is, do the conservatory fitters usually put a vertical DPC where the windows abutt the house or is it usually just sealed? I will be plastering the inside so don't want to risk any damp etc.

If its usually just sealed, is that good enough or should I request them to put a vertical DPC in when they are fitting it?

Thanks

If your conservatory is butting up against a flat external wall. There should be a vertical DPC in its outside skin, so the old outside wall which is now inside is isolated from any damp. Just make sure they do it, its a dusty job as the wall is cut with a disc cutter.
