i certainly was not suggesting any air vent for under floors which are required in the building regs be blocked ..just the ones which are not in any way ventilating a cavity and were there only because open fires were an original feature ....one of my properties (the one i'm living in )has had...

is the plaster out of date ??? if you are skimming a wall you relly need it very wet ...also if using a whisk dont over mix

i always get rid of them ...as said there were when there was open fires ...i usually knock off the plaster vent thing and dot and dab a peice of plaster board and plaster skim

hard to discribe the mess this was ...i dont know if he intended to render this or what but it is worse than it looks notice the shed ...guess where the brick match had to come from .. :shock: hard cement !!!...you what ...i had to grind each brick :shock: well...

cleaned it all up i have some of them rubber connectors (dont really like using them) but this has been bodged to the max ...its a shame the guy that broke it in the first place diddnt leave a good 6" or so of pipe to fit to :roll:

surely the building control officers would have made an order for them to put right the dammage they have done anyway ??
