Sometimes this can be sorted by giving it a spray with something like gt85. Do not use wd40. I have had a few occasions where this has happened and not been solved by spray. Both times was with a lockmaster lock. You will see the make on the locking strop normally. If it is a lockmaster, you may...
I would try taking the handle off first just to make sure it is not a problem with the spindle. It will also be easier to move the cams with the handle off

If you can take the glass out it would be easier. If you put an air bag or something to lift the window up slightly (or sideways if it is a side opener) creating a gap so you can see the cams. You can use something like a thin piece of metal to move the cams into the unlocked position. Once open...
I didn't think the maco had the screws in the centre of the latch or side of the gearbox? All the ones I have come across so far have had a little clip on the side that you lift to release it. I'm not saying I'm right, it's just from my personal experience

When cutting the strip. Put it in the correct position in the door and mark the top and bottom. The inner part of the strip (the bit that moves when you lift the handle will need to be cut shorter as this will stick out when the handle is lifted. Alternatively you could put it in the lock...
I know this doesn't help now and I might be wrong, but I am sure there is a little slide on the side neat the latch that releases the latch and can just click back in the other way
Sometimes the beeds are back wedged. Which means you put the beeds in first and then put the rubber in in the other side after. If the rubber is loose and comes off easily it is likely to be back wedged
If the bottom handle side is scraping the bottom it sounds like it needs toe and heeling. There are videos on YouTube showing how to do this but if you have any questions I will be happy to help
I agree with gazman16. I would however first try giving it a spray with something like gt85. Do not use wd40 as this may temporarily fix the issue but will cause a build up in the keyway. If that does work you know that it is the cylinder that is causing the issue
