Help with danish oil on stone paving

Yeah they are Indian stone slabs which have an absorbent surface but it may be worth trying the isopropyl alcohol.

Help with danish oil on stone paving

While applying oil to my timber overhead door canopy I realised too late that the wind had moved the protective sheet exposing part of the stone slab entrance steps and I now have about six £2 coin sized oil spots on the stair treads. I've tried scrubbing with soapy water and rinsing with...

Teeing off existing flow and return

I have 15mm flow and return pipes traversing my lounge and I want to tee off them to install an additional small rad using speedfit fittings. Is it usually possible to manipulate the pipe ends into the speedfit tee with a single pipe cut or is it sometimes necessary to cut a short section of...

    Drilling porcelain tiles

Much appreciated. I'll give that a try.

    Drilling porcelain tiles

Thanks, I wasn't aware of that option. Are there also adapters to use diamond drill bits on angle grinders?

    Drilling porcelain tiles

I've almost completed the porcelain tiles in the bathroom. The wall where the shower screen needs to be fitted is a stud wall. Before fitting tile backer boards I inserted timber noggins corresponding to where I anticipated I'd need to screw the shower screen vertical hinge and marked the...

    Cutting 6mm ceramic wall tiles

I resorted to my circular saw in the end. It's a longer process than using a manual cutter on account of having to go outside to do each cut, not to mention annoying the neighbours but a professional manual tile cutter is way too expensive for a one time use. The cuts are OK but not as sharp as...

Sorry my mistake, the tiles are porcelain not ceramic

    Cutting 6mm ceramic wall tiles

I've just started tiling my bathroom with 6mm ceramic tiles. I soon discovered that the cheap manual cutter which worked fine for my thinner kitchen tiles is no good for these tiles. I can score the tiles ok but then however much pressure I apply they just won't snap. I've done a few cuts with...

Rad not getting hot after new TRV

Well that's another head scratcher for me because there's no obvious place in the system to dose with products. There's no magna clean as an option and all of the rads only have a bleed screw threaded into the back of the rad. It's a Greenstar combi so there's no braided filling loop that could...

Rad not getting hot after new TRV

I don't know. Possibly a schoolboy error but I didn't check because I was replacing each of the lockshield valves.

Rad not getting hot after new TRV

I didn't do a full drain down though the rads are very long single panel types so by the time I'd emptied all 3 that's a lot of water drained. The water was mucky but each of the rads was stood up vertically for a time and there wasn't gunk discharging just some dirty water. It's a combi boiler

Rad not getting hot after new TRV

Forgot to say that the pin on the TRV is functioning properly.

Rad not getting hot after new TRV

I replaced the lockshield valves on each of the 3 rads at the same time and have them fully open. The problem rad is now warm but it seems to have maxed out at 45c compared to 58c for the downstairs rads

Rad not getting hot after new TRV

Thanks Terry. I've done that and it is now warming up albeit very slowly. It's now at 35c after about 20 minutes. What's the explanation?
