    Good quality tubular latch

Can anyone recommend some good quality tubular latches with a 64mm latch and 45mm backset. Ideally in Satin Nickel. They are to replace existing ones. I've tried the ones from Screwfix / Toolstation over the years and whilst they are "ok" they felt cheap and started to squeak over time and...

Damp patch on concrete floor by door

Just to update, I finally got this job done this week. Followed your instructions and all went well. I can't believe it was built this way or not picked up on when the house was built 25 years ago. Cheers

Damp patch on concrete floor by door

Ive got the ardex for this job, about to start it in next week or so. The ardex instructions say its only to be used 30mm deep when mixed with aggregate? I know you said 6inchs in 1 go is ok but just double checking. How long would it take at 6inch depth to before i can lay carpet back down?

Damp patch on concrete floor by door

What's the reason for not just using normal concrete after the dpm? Is it the possibility of damp issues?

Damp patch on concrete floor by door

I guess I'll need to take the skirtings off to get the DPM up the wall. There is what I think is the inner cavity wall blocks on the window side of that big crack. Do I leave these as are and just dig out the wall cavity? How would I join the new dpm against where it meets the old one? On the...

Damp patch on concrete floor by door

Thank you for the reply. How far would you dig down? Chips in first then ardex on top I presume? Do I need to put the sheet up the walls at all? Sorry for the novice questions

Damp patch on concrete floor by door

I have a damp area by my upvc french doors. There is a crack in the concrete floor approx 16cm from the doors. In this crack I can see what I presume is the plastic floor dpc? I've attached a picture. Should this run all the way up to the door? What can I do to resolve this? I was thinking of...

Damp concrete floor by upvc french doors

Looking at it again, it looks like the plastic floor membrane runs up to the inner wall skin of concrete blocks (where the crack in floor is) Could I take up the thin screed layer and paint a liquid dpc up to the door?

Beko DRCS68S tumble dryer tripping the electric

I have tested the front thermostat and the 2 stats on the heater element with a multimeter. The front stat failed to give a reading and so did 1 of the stats on the heater element. ( the one without the reset button). There is what looks to be a reset button on 1 of the element stats and this...

Beko DRCS68S tumble dryer tripping the electric

Hi I was wondering if anyone on here can help me. I was using my tumble dryer last night for about 3 hours. I stopped in mid cycle and emptied it as the towels were dry. The power button was off on the dryer but it was still plugged into the mains. About 2 mins later, the machine then popped...
