Monobloc flexible tails with compression fitting

Sorry for the late thank you. I tried the brass nut approach but because of the fixed end on the tails, I couldn't tighten the joint on both sides. In the end I had to cut 2 just-long-enough pieces of copper pipe, and put new compression joints on the threaded end. Was very tight, but worked...

Monobloc flexible tails with compression fitting

I have just bought a monobloc basing mixer to replace a broken one. It came with 2 braided flexible tails. The male fitting to my new tap is larger than on the old tap, so I have to use the new 12mm tails. The problem is that the older tails had a female threaded connector at the non-tap end and...

    Repair mono bloc mixer tap

That looks very similar. I can't get the lever out despite trying with a pliers. I suppose I'll try lifting it up as you suggest. Obviously I'm worried that I will permanently wreck it. I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks, R

    Repair mono bloc mixer tap

Have just looked again: nothing. The head can tilt back so it's not exactly like the one in the diagram, but no cap or grub screw. Maybe in the hole where the lever is screwed in. I'll try getting that out. Thanks, R

    Repair mono bloc mixer tap

Thanks for the reply. I thought it was something like a cartridge I needed. The tap you show however has a little Allen key grub screw holding the top on. My tap is a modern minimalist cylinder, with no obvious screw and nothing like a little platic decal hiding one. My problem then is how do I...

    Repair mono bloc mixer tap

I have a mono mixer on a bathroom basin. It is about 150mm tall, cylindrical and with one of those turn and tilt single-lever top. It has stopped mixing (hot only now) and is difficult to shut i.e. Takes some jiggling to stop the flow. I am reluctant to buy a replacement because it will be...

Immersion Heater heating top of tank - but no hot water

JohnD - there is voltage across the terminals of the heater, but with the stat at 60, the tap at the top was very warm, but not uncomfortable to the touch.

Immersion Heater heating top of tank - but no hot water

I've never had to depend on the immersion before. It could be too short for the tank. The hot water feed comes out of the tank about 40cm from the top. the only pipe directly out of the top is the vent. Although it appears that this may once have been the hot water pipe before the pump was...

Immersion Heater heating top of tank - but no hot water

Water is coming out of the taps. The pump whcih engages when the hot taps are turned on is working. But the water is stone cold. I presume the immersion is working because, once turned on, there is heat in the vent pipe at the top of the tank.

Immersion Heater heating top of tank - but no hot water

No. None of the taps has hot water. I've even run the shower at full blast on hot (although cold) to empty out the tank and force it to refill. As I said, when the hot water was heated by the boiler downstairs, hot water was fine. Just the immersion doesn't seem to do the job.

Immersion Heater heating top of tank - but no hot water

In the absence of a CH boiler right now, I'm depending on an immersion heater to heat the hot water in the cylinder. The immersion is working but I'm getting no hot water. The immersion is situated on the top of the tank, down vertically into the tank. There is a hot water vent pipe right out...

Potterton Suprima 80 - PCB fuse blows repeatedly

Firstly, I am not trained in either plumbing or heating, and am merely an enthusiastic tinkerer attempting to save some money. I guess the first reply was a little too vague - but helpful nonetheless - and the most recent is way beyond my capability. I successfully replaced the PCB, and...

Potterton Suprima 80 - PCB fuse blows repeatedly

I have a 7 year old Potterton Suprima 80 and recently it stopped working suddenly. Power and light were still on at the timer switch/controller but all lights on the boiler went out. I found the fuse on the PCB (T3.15) and sure enough it had blown. I replaced that fuse twice(!) and both fuses...
