Not MacGregors, no. Whereabouts are they? The problem is that here in the Highlands all the trees are old and falling over and the power network is on its knees so we get a lot of power cuts and we need to keep the heat pump running.
Thread revival.... in the end I had to send the gen back to the importer in Pembroke Dock. Turns out there's a mechanism on the engine that is supposed to squirt in extra diesel on cold starts and this had not been set up despite their web site claiming that everything is tested before being...
G'day, we want to make a pair of sliding shutters for the Veluxes in our snug, to improve insulation in winter. They will be covered in sound-absorbing material so as to soak up high frequencies that reverberate when you have sloping ceilings.
Can anybody think of a slider/ roller kit that...
Thanks all for the suggestions. It's beginning to be clear that I'm not going to find a low-cost solution. I bet there are systems but they would be commercial as used in shops and banks and I'd have to replace the standard NorDan lock, which controls all the other bits of the locking system...
Yes because at the moment we have to take the back door key with us, cross the car port and unlock the workshop door. Le Corbusier said that a house should be a machine for living in, so I want to set up a simple and evident way of unlocking and locking the workshop from inside the house. I'll...
Yes I considered that but in my ideal world I'd be able to hit a button inside the back door, look through the glass and see the workshop door indicator turn green for "unlocked". Then lock it when I turn in for bed or go out.
Can't believe something doesn't exist to do this.
Good suggestions thanks, I want a setup that allows me to unlock the door in the morning and lock it when I go out or go to bed. There must be some kind of access system sold for this.
Nope, nothing. My diesel mechanic friend is as baffled as I am. While I was cranking it he tried the old bushman's trick of pointing a gas flame down the inlet and it burst straight into life.
I'm suspecting the importer diverted an order for a tropical market into the UK.
It's to run the heat pump which peaks at 7.5 kw when it kicks in plus freezers and sometimes electric cooking.
Sorry I started a new thread forgetting that I'd posted about it before.
Living in the Scottish Highlands we get a lot of power cuts, mostly when old trees fall on lines so I bought a Hyundai diesel genset. Big pile of crap, there's no preheat so it's a nightmare to start, it chuffs white smoke and coughs into life after 30 seconds or more of cranking. Once running...
Hi, we have a glass back door looking across the car port to the workshop door. I'd like to have a remotely operated lock on the workshop so that we can unlock it before going out and a visual indicator so we can check it's locked before going out or going to bed.
I'm sure this must exist. Any...
