Using flex to interconnect halogen spots

What would be the correct size of 2-core flex to use for the final connection between the transformer and the lamp connector block in a 12v 35W per lamp setup, please? Cheers.

    Rain comes through Chimney

Depending on ease of access, and subject to other restrictions (for instance if you live in a listed building) you could remove the remainder of the chimney - of course there will be a significant roofing job involved too - or just block it. Blocking it up should solve or at least greatly...

    Rain comes through Chimney

What's holding the chimney up now that the wall below it has been removed?

    Flies in Roof Space

You need to remove their food source. Maybe you have some damage to part of the roof and birds, rodents etc. are able to get in? Or perhaps you or someone else has stored something there which they are feeding on?

to batten or not to batten....

Why not treat yourself to some 2x2 battens? I would not recommend trying to screw 2x1 battens edge on. Do yourself a favour!

    conservatory leaking water

I'm wondering why this has just started happening now. I think we need more information about this before concluding that a cavity tray is the answer, especially considering how difficult it would be to retro-fit!

Wall Light - looping in at switch

To minimise (i.e. limit to one) the number of cables emerging from the wall at each of two wall lights, is it acceptable - where a junction box would be necessarily inaccessible - to loop in both fittings at the switch?

    T&E current carrying capacity

I'm going for MK Logic Plus sockets and 47mm boxes, so don't anticipate too much trouble.

    T&E current carrying capacity

Spurs, as guessed, but I only envisage one - to an external Masterseal socket with single rear cable entry (optional back plate).

    T&E current carrying capacity

Thanks for that Spark. I've just found that out from another source as well. Typically I have now bought a reel of 4mm2 and started the job this afternoon. Never mind... The only potential problem now is handling the connections - two, or even three 4mm2 conductors in one terminal will be...

    T&E current carrying capacity

I suppose what I really meant to ask was whether 4mm2 is large enough for a cable totally enclosed in a thermally-insulated wall?

    T&E current carrying capacity

Extending an existing ring main which is on 2.5mm2 T&E, my only reasonably easy route for the extra cable is within an insulated 250mm thick (!) stud wall. Referring to table 4D5A, I see that the existing 2.5mm2 T&E is rated at 27A if clipped direct. The same table lists 4mm2 routed in an...
