Evening,
Wanted to replace a euro cylinder on my mum's patio door as she's lost her key.
Drilled it out and removed cylinder.
I've been searching all over the net for the correct terminology and have drawn blanks.
It appears to have a pin on frame system and I think it might be an old...
After having typed my reply, I see you've all come out as coonts.
At NO point, have I been disrespectful to ANYONE? You should think more carefully about what you choose to read into posts because in the state of mind I am currently in, I would gladly take the ***ing case off and switch it on...
You've got all the chronology of events mixed up but when you use so many expletives in so few sentences it is hardly surprising.
I acknowledge gas works are dangerous and that I am aware that this boiler is dangerous. That stems from the fact that many years ago I came to this forum for...
AGAS.
I find your comments offensive. You're basically calling me a downright liar! You don't even know me yet you call me "mate" and offend me. So kick me in the teeth whilst I am down and then wish me luck. Sounds a bit twisted to me.
Hooting Owl.
Thanks for the advice. It is something...
Hi Terry
Mine is the 16/22. Not sure if this has a bearing. I read somewhere it should be treated as Grade F efficiency in the CIBSE guide (i.e. 69%).
Not sure what output is but it's mroe than sufficient. Only ever run it on less than 1 on the dial in winter.
It's having the money up front though. I've had a quick look at some info on the net in the meantime.
I have CO detector located within the recommended distance from the boiler and also used a lit jos-stick (although I am NOT a hippy I bought one specifically as someone told me this was a good...
All sorted.
It was the relay. I took it off and changed it again and bent one of the contacts that was sparking green a smidgen closer to the bimetallic strip.
Interestingly, the pilot looked a bit orange before I did that and now is a clear blue. I am going to buy a new relay and invest in...
I have edited that comment because the past could be yesterday. It was many years ago and of course replacing the electrode would involve taking the case off.
As it happens, I have read one of your posts where you were criticised for giving advice out although you were clear that you were not...
Sorry have made it clear. I have NO intention of removing the boiler case. I have never done gas work on the boiler and NEVER would. Too dangerous. May be broke but not entirely stupid.
I only wish to ascertain if this is a simple boiler control unit swap out.
Thank you also for extremely...
Morning,
I am faced with my boiler which is failing to light the pilot.
I am aware that this being a postive case pressure boiler that I should not work on it and neither am I soliciting for encouragement to do so.
I am simply looking to repair it without deliving too deep.
I have taken the...
I used to run it 24/7 in winter but now it is in from 0600-1200 hours and 1800-2200 hours so 10 hours a day 7 days a week. Just about to probably infill from 1200-1800 hours this week though because it is getting unbearable by 1800 hours.
I dial is just below 1 on the boiler. It is comfortable...
I really appreciate everyone's help so far.
Got to say I think I've learnt quite a bit from reading up.
Could do with getting the RF room stat up and running then I assume I could crank up the boiler and rely on the room stat switching the boiler off.
I was given a Sunvic TLX 1206 by my...
I have today replaced the backplate in the EP6002 as I wanted to tidy the wires up. What fun that turned out to be!
The panel wouldn't come alive at first and then when I rechecked / tightened the connections, a relay in the boiler started sparking rapidly.
It turned out that the fused spur...
