Thanks mickyg
Found the leak completely by fluke. Walking around the house bare footed and noticed a small section of laminated flooring was a little too warm. Builder came yesterday and broke a small section of the concreate floor and lo and behold, there was the hot water pipe. The pipe...
Hmmm, this is going to be interesting. Some of our hot water pipes are under bathroom tiles and some are even under concrete :( . Thank you all for your help and I will post back when we have found out where it is. It is going to take a while. I wonder if house insurance will cover this  .
The fault is constant. However, as I said before when the cold water tap is turned on, it stops. So, if there was a leak in one of the hot water pipes (lets assume that is what it is), then why would turning a cold water tap affect it?
I have now also tried the "i", while the fault is occurring (all water taps off in the house). When just the green light is flashing (yellow light off), it says S.10. When the yellow light comes on, it comes up with S.10, S.13 and S.14
danger mouse was correct. It is 828E Turbomax Plus. I switched the boiler off and then on again and pressed i. It came back with a status code of S.31 and that is it.
According to the manual the light blinks green if warmstart is on if hot water is being requested. I have already followed...
OK. I will post them tonight. Are you saying that the boiler man could have been correct about the leak in the hot water pipes. He also said that was downstairs and the boiler is upstairs. If that is the case, then why does switching on cold water switches the boiler off?
It is definitely not turbomax plus. I will try and find the paper work tonight to find the exact model.
Sorry, what is the dhw selector knob? I don't remember reading anything about that in the manual.
Thanks for the quick response, but our hot water dial is more or less all the way to the left and has been there ever since the boiler was installed almost three years ago.
I should have also mentioned that it is a combi boiler and I have tried the heating setting to ON and OFF and it makes no difference. The water pressure gauge is in the middle (1.5 I think). We noticed the problem last weekend and at the same time, our main water pipe into the house developed a...
I am wondering if someone can help with me a problem. We have a Vaillant bolier (not sure of the model because there is no sticker but it may be one of the 800 series) and whenever we switch on the hot water, it comes on as expected and hot water comes out. However, when the water is turned off...
