    Adding additional light/switch from exsisting

Timer is from Toolstation, no other chain had them (at least in stock) when I looked.

    Adding additional light/switch from exsisting

Ok, so what Omega say is correct. Thanks. Lights are just 4W LED jobbies, not bright, just decorative.

    Adding additional light/switch from exsisting

Ok thanks. What do I do about the split? Is it possible to just split it colour to colour? EDIT: To clarify, there are 4 pins N - Neutral NotUsed L - Live L OUT - Live out. So it does require a neutral? I just connect the feed N to the N-Neutral pin?

    Adding additional light/switch from exsisting

So, this is in a garage, the cable will run to the light on the ceiling. The cable you questioned is the one I've run in today. What you 2 are saying is I need neutral. Can I take a spur from the light this switch ... switches? Then use the cable I've run already? The earth was existing and...

    Adding additional light/switch from exsisting

I would like to add an additional 2 outside lights to my house. I currently have a light switch that I figure I can take a spur from. Ideally I'd like 1 cable to go from a new switch (next to the current) to a splitter, to then go to 2 lights. Idea is to take live feed from original switch to...

Adding new light on exsisting switch

Andy's method has worked. Yes it was a neon screw driver. All earth connected to the back box it's self, then 1 cable to the faceplate.

Adding new light on exsisting switch

I currently have 2 switches controlling 1 light in my house. Off of 1 of the switches, I want to swap it out for a 2 gang switch, then feed a cable out the wall to outside for an light. This means replacing 1 of the switches with a 2 gang switch (it's currently 1). A photo of what I...

    New oven tripping rcd

Ha, more in me doing it! Yes, gave it a good tug and wouldn't budge! So, has someone wired it wrong when installed?

    New oven tripping rcd

Yea, just moved and it does. Top right blue goes into oven curretly, it needs to go into the rcd?

    New oven tripping rcd

Ok, so there is a thin blue cable that goes into the back of the oven one, but I can't confirm it's the one you highlighted. It goes behind the master, then looks like it isn't the same cable. Edit: yes, it is the same! Just moved it and the one you highlighted goes into the oven one. So...

    New oven tripping rcd

Easiest but may burn my house down? Is it the right thing to do? Edit: how do you know that thin one is in the cooker one? I can't see it go in there!

Here we go! The tall one is the one labelled 'oven'.

    New oven tripping rcd

We moved in a few weeks ago, and the plug hasn't worked since. The house was re-wired only 6-8 months ago and has never had an oven in it. No idea who the electrician was, not overly bothered above a warranty claim, just want a hot dinner! The photos above are my iPhone, believe it or not...

    New oven tripping rcd

Brand new cooker. Yes, if I use the plug, it trips, even with the cooker off. I'll take a good photo of the wiring for the CU later on. My other halfs electrician reckons it could be as simple as the wall plate, but I doubt she explained the CU setup to him! Is it worth bypassing the...
